I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter, which arrived some time ago, in which you tell me of the differences of opinion that have manifested in your city.

Various texts establish that what pertains to the past comes into play only for reward or punishment, and regarding what has occurred, for achieving teshuvah*. My role consists of being the emissary who emphasizes to each person the necessity of using his strengths, of seizing the opportunities offered by Divine Providence* in order to fulfill his present and future mission, his moral and profound role. And the Mishnah* says: "I was created to serve my Creator."

What interests me is therefore the present or future conduct and its conformity with what has just been said. You must do everything in your power to spread the wellsprings outward. The easiest means of achieving this is the framework of the Chabad* youth association, all the more so since those who devote themselves to this are few in number. And regarding the worries you have experienced in the past, you must strengthen and fortify yourself. You must understand what I mean.

May Hashem* grant that you give me good tidings of this by return mail — regarding your own actions and those of others within the Chabad* youth association. You will do so frequently, and the knowledge that you will soon need to write will awaken your strengths and provide you with energy, as one can verify concretely.

As a final point — which arouses the most interest — you inform me that your brother has become engaged and the wedding date has been set. And no doubt my letter responding to your brother on this matter has already arrived. May Hashem* grant that they build an everlasting edifice, a Chassidic* home, and may Hashem* enable you yourself to always announce good tidings.

במענה על מכתבו מכבר, בו כותב אודות החילוקי דיעות שהיו ב...

והנה כבר מבואר בכ"מ שהענינים דעבר נוגעים לעניני שכר ועונש, ובהנוגע להמדובר בעצמו - בעבודת התשובה. ועניני הוא להיות שליח לעורר את כאו"א לנצל כל כחותיו וההזדמנויות שניתנו לו מהשגחה העליונה למלאות תפקידו בהווה ובעתיד, תפקידו הנפשי והפנימי, וכדבר משנה אני נבראתי לשמש את קוני. ובמילא מה שמענין אותי הוא הנהגתו בהווה ובעתיד, אם הוא מתאים להכתוב לעיל - שעושה ככל יכולתו בהפצת המעינות חוצה, שהדרך הכי קרובה לזה היא במסגרת צעירי אגו"ח. ובפרט שמעטים העוסקים בזה. וכנראה שבקשר עם הזעזועים שבעבר צריכים לחיזוק ותוספת כח, וד"ל. ויה"ר שבדואר החוזר יבשר טובות בכל זה, היינו בהנוגע לפעולות עצמו ובהנוגע לפעולות כאו"א מהחבורה. ויעורר את ההנהלה שיתרגלו לכתוב מהנעשה ע"י צעירי אגו"ח לעתים קרובות, שידיעה זו עצמה שמתקרב זמן הכתיבה, בכחה לעורר הכחות ולהוסיף במרץ, כנראה במוחש.

ואחרון חביב, להודעתו מקשוה"ת של אחיו... שי' עם ב"ג תחי' ואח"כ מקביעות החתונה (ובודאי נתקבל מכתבי מכבר מענה בזה לאחיו שליט"א) הנה יה"ר שיהי' בנינם בנין עדי עד בית חסידותי, ואותו יצליח השי"ת לבשר תמיד אך טוב.
