To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Nachum Yaakov (Rav N. Y. Farmet of Buenos Aires),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter, with the news it conveyed. Obviously, this proves that one can and must act in your city, in all domains of Judaism. For if one was able to do so a few decades ago, how much more is it possible now, when there are new communal leaders. And nothing can withstand the will.

Moreover, we find ourselves within the thirty days preceding the festival (of Pesach*) — that is, just after Purim* — and it is then that one begins studying the laws of Pesach*. One must therefore find possibilities and means not only to distribute Matzah Shemurah* — since I emphasized a few years ago that this should be done just before Pesach* — but more generally, to ensure kashrus*, proper supervision. Certainly there are Rabbanim* who are in charge of this, but it is said that one counsels eagerness to those who naturally possess this quality. Moreover, you yourself have experience in this matter, and as I said, nothing can withstand the will.

שלום וברכה!

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו עם המודעות המוסגרים בו, ומובן שממודעות אלו ראי' והוכחה שאפשר וגם מוכרח לפעול במחנו הט' בעניני יהדות, ואם בעשיריות שנים לפני זה עשו ופעלו עאכו"כ עתה שבודאי נתוספו עסקנים בעניני יהדות ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון, ובפרט ששלשים יום לפני החג היינו תיכף אחר פורים דורשים בהלכות החג הוא חג הפסח, הרי מוכח לחפש עצות ודרכים לא רק בהנוגע לחילוק שמורה, שעוררתי על זה לפני איזה שנים, שזמן חלוקה זו היא בסמיכות לחג הפסח אלא בכלל בעניני כשרות והשגחה, ואף שבכלל יש רבנים משגיחים וכו' הרי ידוע מרז"ל אין מזרזין אלא למזורזין, ובפרט כשהוא יש לו נסיון (פראקטיקע) ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון כנ"ל.
