Igrot Kodesh · Letter 416 — Distribution of Chassidic Discourse and Chinuch Letter

To the great Rav, Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav H. H.[1],

I greet and bless you,

I duly received your letters of 7 Tishri and 7 Marcheshvan. I reply to them now:

A) Enclosed you will find the chassidic discourse of 13 Tishri, which you will make available to the greatest number, as well as an open letter from Merkaz L'Inyanei Chinuch*. I have also sent you separately the Kuntres He'chaltz'u* 5659[2].

B) All our institutions have without doubt done what my father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita, asked of them in his telegram, and have solicited assistance from the Chicago Yeshivot* Committee[3]. That committee wrote to the Rabbanim* of the Holy Land regarding the grants it is to allocate.

You will therefore speak immediately with Rav Ch. Y. Zevin[4] in order to determine what must be done and why Yeshiva Tzemach Tzedek* was overlooked.

C) It is not our custom for one who is observing a yahrzeit* to lead the blessing at the conclusion of the third Shabbat* meal preceding that date, nor to lead the service at the conclusion of that Shabbat*[5].

D) You will surely send us a copy of the magazine in which there will appear a laudatory article about the Tanya* notes and summaries[6] and about the Kuntres He'chaltz'u*, when it is published.

E) I am surprised that you say nothing about your father's commentaries on Tanya*. I therefore renew my request[7]. Can you send them to me? I will return them if you wish.

F) We wrote to Rav Binyaminsohn[8]. We no longer have a complete set of 'Conversations with the Young,' as certain issues are out of print.

א) מוסג"פ המאמר די"ג תשרי לזכות הרבים ומכ' כללי מהמל"ח. בפ"ע נשלח לו קונטרס החלצו רנ"ט.

ב) בודאי מלאו כל מוסדותינו הוראת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שליט"א בטעלעגראם לפנות לועד הישיבות דשיקאגא בבקשת עזר. הועד כתב לרבנים באה"ק בקישור עם העזר שיתנו השתא ובודאי יתדבר כת"ר תיכף עם הרש"י זעווין מה שיש לעשות בזה ולמה נשמטה ישיבת צ"צ.

ג) המנהג לברך בסעודה ג' ולעבור לפני התיבה במוצש"ק שלפני היאצ"ט אין אצלינו.

ד) בטח ישלח לכאן המכ"ע שבו יהי' מאמר הערכה ע"ד ס' הקיצורים והערות לתניא קונטרס החלצו וכיו"ב. לכשיודפס.

ה) תמי' שאינו מזכיר מאומה ע"ד רשימות אביו ז"ל בנוגע לתניא ואכפיל בקשתי לשלחם אלי ע"מ להחזיר אם ברצונו הוא.

ו) להרב בנימינסאן כתבו. קומפלט שלם של השמועסן אין כבר אצלינו כי כמה חוברות אזלו לגמרי.
