To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Dovid (Rav D. Chanzin of Petach Tikvah, see letter no. 3822),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 2 Adar and the one that preceded it, with what it contained. You mention the matter of taking possession of a school founded by others. It seems to me that I have already written to you (see letters no. 1839 and 4020) that, inasmuch as the energies of the active people and the means are limited, you must devote yourself to what cannot be done by others.

If it concerns taking the spiritual responsibility for this school, this falls rather within the domain of activity of the Chabad* youth association, but not of the network (Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch in the Holy Land). Moreover, this will be the case only if it is a good proposition — but not if the spiritual draws toward the material and the material toward politics.

You will surely describe to me in detail the teachers' study days, and you will also answer the other questions I posed in my previous letter.

You mention the distribution of Matzah Shemurah* to the students of the schools, and you surely mean that each one will receive a kezayis* (approximately thirty grams). Please tell me what the situation is, for this is certainly a good idea.

It would be good for you to begin thinking about a summer camp in Kfar Chabad* for the students of the network. May Hashem* grant that this be organized in the proper manner. In this way, the benefit will be beyond what one can imagine.

You inform me of the birthday of your son Yosef Yitzchak, to whom Hashem* will grant long life. May Hashem* grant that he grow up to be a Chassid*, fearing Hashem* and a Torah scholar. You will derive much Chassidic* satisfaction from him and from all your children.

You also mention your own birthday. May Hashem* grant that you have a year of success, in your personal concerns and in your communal activities alike. You will manage to settle in the best way, materially and spiritually.

שלום וברכה!

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מב' אדר והקודם לו עם המוסגר בהם. ובמ"ש אודות לקחת לידם בי"ס שנתתקן ע"י אחרים וכו'. הנה כמדומה כבר כתבתי להם שלדעתי כיון שכחות הפעילים מצומצמים וכן האמצעים, עליהם להתעסק בענינים שהם בסוג דמצוה שא"א לעשותה ע"י אחרים וכו'. ובהנוגע להסברא לקחת הפקוח הרוחני, זה נכנס יותר בעבודת צעירי אגו"ח ולא ברשת (ובד"א אם זהו א גלאטע הצעה, ולא שעי"ז תוצאות להמשך מרוחניות לגשמיות ומגשמיות לפוליטיקה).

בטח יכתוב בפרטיות בהנוגע לימי העיון למורים-ות וכן גם יענו על שאר שאלותי שבמכתבי הקודם.

במ"ש אודות חלוקת שמורה של יד לתלמידים-ות בתי הספר, ובטח הכוונה בזה לכזית, בודאי יודיעוני ההוצאות שבזה, כי בכלל נכון הדבר .

מהראוי שכבר יתחילו להתבונן אודות סידור קייטנא בכפר חב"ד בשביל תלמידים-ות הרשת ויה"ר שיהי' הדבר מתוכנן כדבעי שאזי יביא תועלת בלתי משוערה.

ולהודעתו מיום הולדת בנו יוסף יצחק שליט"א. יה"ר שיגדל להיות חסיד ירא שמים ולמדן וירווה ממנו ומכל ילידיו שיחיו רוב נחת חסידותי.

ולהודעתו מיום ההולדת שלו, יה"ר מהשי"ת שתהי' שנת הצלחה אצלו בעניניו הפרטים ובעניניו הכללים גם יחד ויסתדר באופן הכי טוב לפניו בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
