To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*,

Rav Moshe (Rav Moshe Yemini, see letter no. 4062),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 24 Shevat, and I learned with pleasure that you maintain the studies of the Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*. No doubt you will make an addition to them, as our Sages say that there is such an increase in the domain of holiness.

You mention the teshuvah* of the righteous. Please consult, on this subject, the Likkutei Torah*, Parshas Devarim, page 92b, and Shir HaShirim*, page 50b. A discourse of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, delivered on Acharon Shel Pesach* 5694 (1934), explains all of this at length.

As you request, I will mention your name and that of your wife near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us.

With my blessing to convey good tidings in all these areas.

You also mention the pronunciation of the Name of Hashem*. Please consult, on this subject, the Chassidic* discourse entitled "You are holy," by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, found in the Sefer HaMaamarim Yiddish, and Torah Or*, page 14b.

I bless you and greet you,

I am responding to your letter of this Tuesday, in which you tell me about your son, who shall have long life.

Concerning his dress, it is clear that your husband, the Rav, is right in saying that by maintaining the dress he had before, he will reduce the tests to which he is confronted. Being dressed in that manner, he will not encounter — or only rarely — the youth he should not associate with.

Concerning the organization of his day, one must endeavor, to the fullest extent possible, that he have a study partner for sacred studies. In this way, this activity will be more stable and less arduous. Furthermore, he will not be alone.

In general, one must find him an activity among the most observant youth — a recreational Shabbos* afternoon, or a class of children younger than himself, to whom he will teach sacred studies and tell stories that inspire the fear of Hashem*. This will lead him to make an effort to set an example in all these domains. And he will be less alone.

It should not be difficult to find children to organize all of this, or students from the schools who are free in the afternoon.

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 26 Shevat, with what it contained. I am surprised by the long interruption between the letters you send me and by the great brevity of the information you provide. Likewise, I am astonished and pained by the delay in the publication of the Bitaon* (Bitaon Chabad, the organ of the Chabad youth association in the Holy Land). Moreover, arrangements were made for it to be published at the same time as the Kovetz Lubavitch* (the equivalent of the Bitaon in the United States). The delay of one therefore disrupts the established order.

No doubt you will make good use of the days of Purim*, which are approaching, in the proper manner. You will engage your friends, wherever they may be, to do the same. Of course, each location will act according to its particularities.

Likewise, it would be good to make the appropriate preparations sufficiently early for the festival of Pesach*, which is approaching. Without making it a vow, I will ask that a contribution be made to a special collection for the expenses that will result. All of this is now easier, since you have an additional van.

With my blessing for a joyous Purim* and to convey good tidings of all this,

מאשר הנני קבלת המכתב מכ"ו שבט עם המוסגר בו, ולפלא ההפסק הארוך שבין מכתב אחד לחבירו וכן הקיצור נמרץ אשר בידיעות וכן לפלא וגם מצער האיחור בהופעת הבטאון ובפרט שהרי התאימו הזמנים להופעתו בהתאם עם הופעת קובץ ליובאוויטש, ואם כן האיחור של אחד מהם מבלבל הסדרים.

בודאי ינצלו ימי הפורים הבע"ל באופן המתאים וכן יזרזו את חבריהם במקומות מושבותיהם עד"ז, מובן בכל מקום ומקום לפי ענינו.

כן הי' מהנכון בעוד מועד לעשות הכנות מתאימות לימי חג הפסח הבע"ל, ובל"נ אעורר ג"כ להשתתפות ממגבית מיוחדת בהוצאות הקשורות עם כל האמור, והרי עתה ישנה הקלה כיון שנתוסף עוד טנדר.
