To the directors of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*,

To the directors of the vocational schools,

may Hashem* grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letters of 7, 11, and 14 Shevat, with what was enclosed therein, and I respond as follows.

A) Concerning the central building of Tomchei Temimim* in Kfar Chabad* (see letter no. 4037), it would be good to distance it as much as possible from the vocational school, for the reasons I gave previously and for others as well.

B) As for the printing school, the great Rav, Chassid* who devotes himself to communal needs, Rav B. E. Gorodetsky (see letter no. 4067), has surely told you that the construction must be completed as quickly as possible and in the proper manner, as I stated in my previous letters.

C) As you requested, this letter is being sent to you by express mail, and no doubt you will confirm to me immediately upon receiving it. Above all, you will proceed to action, in the manner just defined.

I have just received your letter of 16 Shevat, with what it contained, and I respond as follows.

D) In the printing school, linotype and perhaps even manual composition, with everything that entails, are indispensable. One cannot in any way be content with an offset press, and I am even surprised that you ask me this question.

Obviously, if offset equipment is given to you in addition to what has just been said, it is good to accept it, on condition that nothing be taken away from what has been defined and which is, for the time being, the essential.

E) It is indispensable that there be a school for girls, and I have asked several times (see letter no. 3828) that one be established in the Kfar* (Kfar Chabad*).

F) The idea of something resembling a Kollel* is not excluded, although it is new in Chabad*. This should follow the classes for young men and be only for a limited time. These young men will subsequently have to become Yeshivah* teachers or mashpi'im*. And they will commit themselves, from the outset, to assume such functions and not to pursue their studies in another Kollel*.

At least a portion of them will devote themselves to the study of Chassidus* and not exclusively to the revealed part of the Torah*, in order to mark our distinction.

מאשר הנני קבלת המכתבים מז' י"א וי"ד שבט עם המוסגר בהם. [ובמ]ענה עליהם.

א) בנוגע לבנין מרכזי דתו"ת בכפר חב"ד, מהנכון שיהי' בריחוק מקום [...] אפשרי מבי"ס למלאכה, ומהטעמים שכתבתי מכבר, ועוד טעמים...

ד) בהנוגע לבי"ס לדפוס, בודאי כבר קבלו הידיעה ע"י הרה"ג הרה"ח עוסק בצ"צ כו' מוהרב"א שי' גאראדעצקי, שצריך להזדרז בהבנין ובאופן המתאים, וכמו שכתבתי גם במכתבי הקודמים...

ו) כבקשתם נשלח המכתב דחוף, ובטח יאשרו קבלתו, תיכף. והעיקר ע"ד שיגשו לפעולות בהאמור.

ז") בי"ס לדפוס של ליינאטיפ (ואפשר גם סדור יד) והשייך לזה - מוכרח. ואין להסתפק באפסעט בלבד בשו"א. ולפלא גם השאלה בזה. ומובן שבאם יתנו גם ציוד של אפסעט, נוסף על הנ"ל - כדאי הדבר. ובתנאי שלא יגרעו בהנ"ל, שלע"ע הוא העיקרי.

ח) בי"ס לבנות מוכרח וה"ז כו"כ פעמים עוררתי על שייסדו זה בכפר...

ט) ענין מעין "כולל" אינו מופרך (אף שחדש הוא בחב"ד), ובלבד שיבוא בהמשך לכתות הבחורים, שיהי' לזמן מוגבל, שיהיו מוכשרים לנצלם אחכ בתור ר"מ משפיעים וכיו"ב ושיתחייבו מראש ע"ז, שלא ילמדו בעוד כולל וכיו"ב, שעכ"פ חלק מהם יקדישו עצמם ללימוד חסידות ולא רק כולל דנגלה, ונפלינו.
