To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem*,

devotes himself to communal needs

and carries out a sacred mission, Rav Saadya (Rav S. Liberov of Sefrou, Morocco, see letter no. 3508),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 4 Shevat, with the request for a blessing* and the lists (presumably of the school's students) that it contained. Likewise, I received, in its time, your previous letter of 1 Teves. I hope that by the time you receive this letter, you will have noticed an improvement in the health of the members of your family.

You are being offered treatment by irradiation of rays to the head. In this regard, it seems to me that I have already written to you once that one must approach this therapy with caution. Many other treatments present no danger or, in any case, are less dangerous, and their consequences are better known than those of radiation.

No doubt you made use of the day of the Hilloula* (of the Frierdiker Rebbe*, 10 Shevat) in the appropriate manner and in the necessary domains, not only for the students and teachers, but also around you, in the city. It seems to me that I have already written to you that every Chassid* who finds himself in a certain place must consider himself there as the emissary of our holy masters, spreading their teachings, their customs, and their practices throughout the surrounding area of the city and the country.

Our Sages say that "when one of you finds himself in Barbaria…" ("I consider that you are all there," in order to ensure the elevation of that land). This mission has been entrusted to each one of us, and even before that, we have received the necessary strength to carry it out as it should be, with breadth of spirit.

With my blessing of good health, for you as for all the members of your family, and to convey good tidings of all this,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מד' שבט עם הפ"נ ורשימות המוסגרים. כן נתקבל בעתו מכתבו שלפני זה מא' טבת. ותקותי שלעת קבלת מכתבי זה קבל גם ידיעות מהטבת מצב בריאות ב"ב שי', ובמ"ש אודות השטראלען להראש בהנוגע לבריאות... כמדומה כבר כתבתי פעם, שטפול זה דורש זהירות יתירה. והרי ישנם כמה טפולים שאין בהם אחריות, וכמה טפולים שאין בהם עכ"פ אחריות כ"כ ויודעים התוצאות מהם יותר ברור מאשר תוצאות טפול של שטראלען.

בטח ניצלו את היום של ההילולא בענינים ואופנים המתאימים, לא רק בהנוגע לתלמידים ומורים אלא גם בסביבתו ובהעיר. וכמדומה כבר כתבתי שבכלל צריך כל אחד מאנ"ש הנמצא באיזה מקום שהוא, להביט על עצמו כשליח מנשיאינו הק' וצריכים להפיץ תורתם הדרכותיהם ומנהגיהם בכל הסביבה העיר והמדינה. וע"ד מרז"ל אחד מכם גולה לברבריא וכו'. וכיון שתפקיד זה הוטל עכאו"א מאתנו, בודאי שעוד מקודם לזה ניתנו לו הכחות למלאותו כדבעי ומתוך הרחבת הדעת.
