Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 11 Shevat* and to the preceding one, with its contents.

I thank you for describing to me, in relatively detailed fashion, the Hilloula* (of the Frierdiker Rebbe*, 10 Shevat*) and the summary of the speeches (delivered on that occasion; see the preceding letter). Although you do not specify it, the Chabad* women and girls, within the framework of their activities, have surely emphasized the importance of this day in a manner consistent with the spirit of their organization. The same was no doubt the case in the Talmud Torah* schools. If articles have appeared in the press on this subject, please send me the clippings. I thank you for this.

You surely know that tape recorders now exist that allow one to record. You have no doubt seen them when you were here. Lately, the Chassidim* have adopted the habit of recording their gatherings and sending the tape here. Obviously, they also keep a copy in order to use it on various occasions and to recall the enthusiasm generated by these Chassidic farbrengens*. It would be good to check whether such a device can be found in Paris and how much it would cost.

במענה על מכתבו מי"א שבט והקודם לו עם המוסגר בהם.

ת"ח על כתבו בפרטיות לפ"ע אודות יום ההילולא וקיצור הנאומים, ואף שאינו מזכיר עד"ז הנה בטח גם נשי ובנות חב"ד במסגרת שלהן הדגישו ענין יום זה באופן המתאים לארגונן, וכן נעשה עד"ז בהת"ת-ות, ובטח אם הי' נדפס מה במכ"ע, ישלח לכאן קטעים, ות"ח...

בודאי ידוע לו שישנם עתה מכונות קליטה, וכמדומה שבהיותו כאן ראה אותם, ונהגו אנ"ש בזמן האחרון, להקליט את ההתועדות ולשלוח לכאן העתקה אחת - וכמובן להשאיר גם אצלם העתקה בכדי לנצלה בהזדמנויות שונות לחידוש (אפפרישען) ההתעוררות וכו' שעמדו בה בעת ההתועדות, ומהנכון הי' שיתענין אם אפשר למצוא מכונה כזו בפאריז והוצאות הכרוכות בזה.
