Greetings and blessings,

For the record, I confirm having received your letters of 27, 28, and 30 Kislev*, 4, 13, 14, 20, 21, 24, and 28 Teves*, with all their contents.

A) It is painful to take note of the discussions that appear in the minutes (of the meetings of the Yeshivah's* board of directors). These focus on formal concerns, when the welfare of the students is at stake. What do the laws of men matter, according to which "the mouth that pronounced the prohibition must also grant the permission"? A few lines in the minutes seem to indicate that certain people are aware of all this. Yet the situation does not change.

B) You allude to new buildings for the Yeshivah*. In my view, one must, to the fullest extent possible, consolidate the Chabad* institutions and buildings at Kfar Chabad* (see letter no. 4037). This has numerous advantages, both moral and physical. It is, of course, impossible to achieve this result all at once. However, in my opinion, you must not lose sight of this goal. In light of all this, you should therefore seek a new and centrally located building.

C) You mention the dissemination of stories of the righteous, which will appear in the Pardes HaTamim*. Obviously, one must ensure, to the fullest extent possible, that the statements of the one who tells the story and the one to whom it occurred are accurate. Furthermore, it is also necessary to indicate who is reporting it.

D) You wish to send people to Europe who will collect funds. As you know, in such a case, it is advisable to consult with the Chassidim* on the ground, so that one does not cause harm to another. As to who will be delegated, this will be determined locally.

I conclude by thanking you for sending me the recording of the 19 Kislev* celebration at Kfar Chabad*. I derived satisfaction and pleasure from it. I am very grateful to you.

מאשר אני - מפני הסדר - קבלת מכתביהם מ: כ"ז, כ"ח, ל' כסלו. ד', י"ג, י"ד, כ', כ"א, כ"ד, כ"ח טבת, עם המוסגר בהם.

א. מצער לקרוא בפרטי-כל'ים המצורפים השקו"ט, שניתלים בענינים פורמאליים, בה בשעה שטובת התלמידים באמצע. ומאי נ"מ חוקי בני אדם שהפה שאסר הוא הפה שהתיר... נראה מאיזה שורות בהפרט"כ שיש מרגישים בכל האמור, ובכל זה אין המצב משתנה.

ב. במה שכותבים אודות בנינים חדשים בשביל הישיבה, הנה, לדעתי, יש לרכז מוסדות חב"ד והבנינים - עד כמה שאפשר - בכפר חב"ד. וכמה מעלות רוחניות וגם גשמיות בזה. ואף שמובן שאי אפשר לעשות זה בבת אחת, לדעתי יש להציב מטרה זו ג"כ לנגד עיניהם, ובהתאם לזה לחפש מקום מתאים בשביל בנין חדש ומרכזי.

ג. במה שכותבים אודות פירסום סיפורי חסידים שיופיעו ב"פרדס התמים", מובן שצריך לדייק ככל האפשר בסמכות המספר ובעל הסיפור, ונוסף על זה לציין בסיפור הנדפס מי הוא בעל השמועה וכו'.

ד. בהנוגע מה שרוצים לשלוח שוד"רים לאירופא, הרי כבר ידוע הסדר בזה שיש להתדבר עם אנ"ש שם, כדי שלא לבלבל אחד את רעהו. ובהנוגע לשוד"רים עצמם, זה צריך לברר על אתר...

ומסיימים בתודה - על שילוחם ההקלטה מחגיגת יט"כ בכפר חב"ד, שגרמה לי נחת רוח ועונג, ות"ח ת"ח.
