Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter, in which you consider what a scholarship fund for the Yeshivos* could be.

Such scholarships can be envisioned in various ways, particularly for the Yeshivos* in Eretz Yisroel*, which are different from those known in America. There, married men also continue their studies. The amount of these scholarships can therefore be paid into the treasury of the Yeshivah*. One can also inscribe on a plaque the name of the donor, or another name, as desired.

I imagine that one can also arrange for an opportunity to be offered thereby to a student who is deserving — according to the estimation of the Yeshivah* — to study Torah* in tranquility and to progress. Obviously, if these scholarships are maintained for several years, they will not always be awarded to the same students, but to others, if deemed beneficial, for a particular reason.

You say nothing about the project to have the Sefer HaRikmah* (re-edited from the manuscript with an introduction, notes, and an index by Mrs. Wilenski's husband, Michael Wilenski, in Berlin in 5689/1929; he passed away on 30 Sivan 5715/1955, while the second edition with new notes was still in manuscript form; the Rebbe therefore advised his widow to publish this new version; the book was indeed published in Yerushalayim in 5724/1964) printed. Have you contacted the institutions that can undertake this, in Eretz Yisroel* or elsewhere?
