To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Mordechai Dov,

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of this Wednesday, and I learned with pleasure the broad outlines of the Chassidishe farbrengen* that you organized on the luminous day of 19 Kislev*, the festival during which He redeemed our soul in peace, when the light and vitality of our souls were granted to us. No doubt you will seize the opportunities that arise to revive its memory also during the days of the year. This date is, indeed, the Rosh Hashanah* of Chassidus* and its practices, and the head infuses vitality and movement into all the other limbs — this is self-evident.

You mention certain individuals who complain about the organization of the yeshivah* (Achei Temimim* of the Bronx). It is clear that what concerns the realm of holiness* in general, and education in particular, must always be improved to the fullest extent possible. Moreover, the Sage says: "Love criticism." For all that, one should not be distressed by such complaints, for they generally emanate from those who always find something to criticize and protest about. Consequently, these individuals systematically seek out everything that can be criticized, as one observes in practice.

In accordance with your request, your name and those of the members of your family will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. Hashem* will grant you the success of conveying good tidings in all the areas mentioned in your letter, which obviously includes your communal activities.

שלום וברכה!

במענה על מכתבו מיום הרביעי, נעם לי לקרות בו ראשי פרקים מההתועדות שערך ביום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, החג אשר פדה בשלום נפשנו ואור וחיות נפשנו ניתן לנו, ובודאי יחפש הזדמניות לחדש (אפפרישען) רושמי ההתועדות גם במשך ימי השנה, והרי בדיוק נקרא יום זה ר"ה לחסידות ודרכי החסידות, כי מהראש נמשך חיות ותנועה לכל האברים, וק"ל.

במ"ש אודות תלונות איזה מהבע"ב על הסדרים בהישיבה, הנה אף שמובן שבעניני קדושה בכלל והקשורים בחינוך בפרט יש לשפרם ולשכללם ככל האפשרי, הרי בזה שנוגע לתלונות בע"ב, הנה אף שידוע פתגם החכם, אהוב את הבקורת, אין להתרשם מתלונות אלו ביותר, כי ברובא דרובא באים הם מאנשים כאלה שרצונם לבקר ולהתלונן, ורצון זה מכריח אותם לחפש ולחטט במה לקשר את התלונה, וכנראה במוחש.

כבקשתו יזכירוהו ואת כל ב"ב שיחיו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, והשי"ת יצליחו לבשר טובות בכל הענינים המוזכרים במכתבו, ומובן שעסקנותו בצ"צ בכלל זה.
