To the leaders of Kfar Chabad*, in our Holy Land, may Hashem* grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I have received your reports from Rosh Chodesh*, 7, 15, 22, and 30 Kislev* (from the weekly committee meetings), as well as your letters of 25 Kislev* and 3 Teves*. May Hashem* grant that since the work has been initiated, it continue in the same manner and go, in the words of our holy masters, "from better to better."

I am surprised and pained by the delay in the construction of several buildings. Indeed, one can observe concretely, particularly in our Holy Land, that once an undertaking is begun, one can find various means to reduce the difficulties one previously faced.

Another point, which is essential: one must think about expansion, enlargement, and development (from the outset, despite the significant initial investment). Subsequently, little by little, everything will fall into order, but by acting in this way, one will be able to use the buildings as soon as possible. You must understand what I mean, and in a pleasant manner, one might recall the distinction our Torah* draws between the situation ex post facto and that a priori (certain things may not be done a priori, yet they are not invalidated ex post facto).

It is surely unnecessary to emphasize the value of ensuring that the train stops more than once a day at Kfar Chabad*. The more stops, the better.

You speak of an official stamp for the Kfar*. Please let me know the precise text. Likewise, it seems to me that I already wrote to you that one should, to the fullest extent possible, include within the Kfar* its entire current territory (see letter no. 3498), including the buildings located there. Even if, for now, some of them do not conform, they can be made to do so later.

When I discussed the necessity of accelerating the construction, I was referring not only to private residences but also to public buildings. Moreover, the latter will provide several Kfar* residents with the means to earn their livelihood.

I thank you for announcing the good tidings concerning the celebration of the luminous day of 19 Kislev*, the festival during which He redeemed our soul in peace, when the light and vitality of our souls were granted to us. I have also received the recording, and I thank you very much. Be assured of my satisfaction regarding all of this.

This day is the Rosh Hashanah* of the teachings and ways of Chassidus*. May Hashem* grant that, true to its name — as the head — it influence all the days of the year, in all areas of the Kfar*, and not merely serve as the beginning of the year. This will be accomplished in joy, in accordance with one of the fundamental principles of Chassidus*: "Serve Hashem* with joy."

מאשר הנני קבלת הפרטי-כל מר"ח, ז', ט"ו כ"ב ול' כסלו, ביחד עם המכ' מכ"ה כסלו וג' טבת. ויה"ר שכיון שנכנסה העבודה למסלול, ימשיכו גם להבא וילכו, כפתגם הידוע מרבותינו הנשיאים הק', פון גוט צו נאך בעסער.

ולפלא ומצער, מה שהבני' של כמה בנינים מתעכבת, שהרי כבר רואים במוחש, ובפרט באה"ק ת"ו, שכשמתחילים בפועל נמצאים כמה דרכים ואופנים איך למעט את הקישויים שראו מקודם לזה. ועוד, והוא העיקר, שיש לחשוב ע"ד הוספה התרחבות והתפשטות, וסו"ס מסתדרים הענינים במשך הזמן, אלא שמתחילים להשתמש בהבנינים מקודם, וד"ל. וכבר ידוע ע"ד הצחות בזה - הוראת תורתנו ע"ד החילוק שבין דיעבד לכתחילה.

בודאי למותר לעוררם, שכדאי להשתדל שהרכבת תתעכב בכפר יותר מפעם אחת ביום. וכל המרבה בזה ה"ז משובח.

כותבים אודות החותמת הרשמית של הכפר, ובטח יודיעו בדיוק הנוסח. וכן, וכמדומה כבר כתבתי עד"ז מאז, שצריך להשתדל בכל עוז, שבזה יכנס השטח דכפר דעד עתה והבנינים שעליו (ואפיל אם, לע"ע, חלק מהבינים אינם מתאימים, עוד חזון למועד,)...

מובן שהכוונה בהכתוב לעיל בהנוגע להזריזות בבבני' - היא לא רק בנוגע לבתי הדירים הפרטיים אלא גם לבתי הקהל, ועוד יתירה בהם - שישמשו גם מקור פרנסה לכמה מדרי הכפר.

ת"ח על בשורתם הטובה בהנוגע לחגיגת יום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, החג אשר פדה בשלום נפשנו ואור וחיות נפשנו ניתן לנו, כן קבלתי ההקלטה, ות"ח ת"ח. ותנוח דעתם כאשר הניחו את דעתי בזה. ויה"ר אשר מתאים לתוכן שם זה, שם ראש השנה לתורת החסידות ודרכי החסידות, יומשך ממנו על כל ימות השנה בכל עניני הכפר - מתאים להשם ראש - נוסף על היותו תחלת השנה. ויהי' זה דוקא מתוך שמחה וכאחד מיסודי תורת החסידות: עבדו את ה' בשמחה.
