Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of the eighth day of Teves* and, to borrow the explanation of the Likkutei Torah*, Parshas Shelach*, page 38c, on the expression "very, very good," I was "very, very" pleased with the improvement of the situation regarding the mikveh*.

You will surely be vigilant in ensuring that the women, whom Hashem* should grant long life, attend to this matter properly. You will encourage them from time to time, diplomatically, and guide them in their efforts so that all of this is accomplished as quickly as possible and in the best manner. Hashem* will grant you success.

You discuss the polio vaccine. I believe that it should indeed be used. In general, one should not separate oneself from the community. Your letter seems to indicate that the vaccine is being administered in Chicago*. It would be good for you to do the same. Hashem* will grant you success, and you will always and every day convey good tidings about your children, about yourself, about your communal concerns, and about your essential mission, which is the spreading of the wellsprings* (of Chassidus*) outward.

I extend my blessing on the occasion of your wife's birthday. She should have a year of success, material and spiritual, and derive Chassidic satisfaction from all your children.

Regarding your vehicle, it would be good to purchase a new one. However, one should verify this, as it seems that a new 1955 car is just as good as a 1956 model, but considerably less expensive.

במענה על מכתבו משמיני בטבת, נהניתי במאד מאד (עיין לקו"ת שלח ל"ח, ג, בענין ב"פ מאד) לההתעוררות אודות שיפור המצב בהנוגע למקוה. ובודאי יעמדו על המשמר לעורר את הנשים שתליט"א להתעסק בזה, לעודדן מזמן לזמן ובאופן דיפלומטי, גם להורותן הדרך בה תפעלנה, כדי שיבוא הדבר בפועל בהקדם ובאופן הכי טוב.

והשי"ת יצליחם.

במ"ש אודות הסאלק וואקסין, בכלל - דעתי נוטה להשתמש בה. אלא שאין להיות פורש מן הצבור, ואם, כפי הנראה ממכתבו, משתמשים בזה בשיקאגא, טוב שגם הם יעשו זה, והשי"ת יצליחו, להודיע תכה"י בשורות טובות בהנוגע לילידיהם לעצמם לעסקנות הצבורית ולתפקידו הפנימי הפצת המעיינות חוצה.

בברכה - בקשר ליום הולדת את זוג' תי' - לשנת הצלחה בגו"ר ולנחת חסידותי מכיו"ח שי'.
