Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter, which you began writing last Monday.
I recall telling you on numerous occasions that one must not delve into and meditate on everything you write — that is, on your state of mental health, on the way a certain person regards you. One must remember the great principle that "you shall love your fellow as yourself" and, accordingly, view the other person in a favorable light.
You must remember the statement of the Mishnah* that "I was created to serve my Creator." For this, one must have a healthy body, as the Rambam* explains at length in chapters 3 and 4 of his Laws of Character Traits. One must therefore eat, drink, and sleep in an orderly manner. Moreover, you must faithfully fulfill your mission, without entering into deep deliberations — arguments in one direction and another — about every matter, even the most insignificant.
When you think you are in doubt, it is very often because you engage in such deliberations. This is not the case when one accepts the situation as it is. Doubt then becomes exceptional, and even then, consultation with friends and acquaintances generally removes it. It is in this regard that our Sages* say: "The flatter, the better."
What has just been said applies also to the study of the revealed dimension of the Torah* and of Chassidus*. You should not establish a program and then wonder where you will find the time and the inspiration. On the contrary, one must immediately put it into practice. You will then see that it is not difficult, in accordance with the verse: "The matter is very close to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to do it."
I extend my blessing for good tidings regarding all of the above, for peace to reign in your home, and for the fulfillment of the statement of our Sages* that "the Holy One, blessed be He, found no vessel to contain blessing other than peace."
