Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter, in which you tell me that you feel a spiritual decline.
In such a case, one should, first and foremost, intensify one's diligence and eagerness in the study of Torah*, particularly its inner dimension, which infuses vitality and light into all sacred aspects of a person. And a little light suffices to dispel much darkness.
Likewise, one must not exaggerate the importance of this decline, Heaven forbid, as emphasized in particular by the Chassidic discourse entitled "A psalm, a song for the day of Shabbos*," by the Mitteler Rebbe*, which has just been published.
Then, study with all due attention chapters 26 through 29 of the holy Tanya*. It would also be good to consult the spiritual mentors* who teach Chassidus* at the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*. Share your concern with them and put into practice the explanation of our Sages* commenting on the verse: "If a man has a worry in his heart, let him speak of it."
I extend my blessing for studying Torah* with enthusiasm, for strengthening Chassidus*, its teachings and practices, and for conveying good tidings.
For the Rebbe shlita*,
the secretary,
