Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letter of 3 Kislev, in which you mention the visit of Rav Yaakov Yosef Raskin, the shochet*, to the Chabad* synagogue of Meah Shearim and the greetings he conveyed to you at my request (following his visit to the Rebbe during the month of Tishrei*).

In accordance with the saying of our holy masters that an effort is never in vain, Heaven forbid, his words have no doubt given rise to concrete action in the conduct of the synagogue and of those who pray there. Each day has a specific content, and this contribution will therefore surely be felt in daily existence.

These days of Kislev, the month of deliverance, are propitious for this, in particular the date of 19 Kislev, that of our deliverance and the freedom of our souls, when the light and vitality of our souls were granted to us. One can thereby strengthen one's motivation and take the decision to maintain it, firmly and increasingly, throughout the year.

No doubt you will act in this direction, to the fullest extent of your means, all the more so as the merit of your ancestors (Rav Slonim is a descendant of Rebbetzin* Menucha Rachel, daughter of the Mitteler Rebbe*) comes to your aid.

נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מג' כסלו, בו כותב אודות ביקורו של הרה"ח כו' מו"ה יעקב יוסף שי' שו"ב ראסקין בבית הכנסת חב"ד, מאה שערים, והפ"ש, אשר מסר מתאים לבקשתי.

ובודאי מתאים לפתגם נשיאנו הק', חזקה לתעמולה שאינה חוזרת ריקם, ח"ו פעלו גם דברים אלו בענינים של פועל בהנהגת בית הכנסת ובהנהגת המתפללים בו. וכיון שכל יומא ויומא עביד עבידתי', בודאי יפעל זה גם בחיי היום יומים. ומסוגלים ימים אלו דחדש כסלו הוא חדש הגאולה, ובפרט יום הבהיר י"ט כסלו גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו אשר אור וחיות נפשנו ניתן לנו לחזוק ההתעוררות וההחלטה להמשיכם בתוקף ובהוספה על כל השנה כולה. ובודאי יעשה ככל יכולתו בזה, ובפרט שזכות אבותיו מסייעתו.
