To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Yisrael Aharon (Rav I. A. Neparstek, of Kfar Chabad),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 23 Cheshvan, and as you request, I will mention (at the resting place of the previous Rebbe) your name, that of your daughter, and that of your wife, so that each may obtain the fulfillment of their needs, material and spiritual. Hashem will surely grant you success and you will give good tidings of your situation.

It is surely unnecessary to remind you of the commentary that Chassidus* gives on the verse: "Hashem prepares the steps of man and He favors his way." A letter of my father-in-law, the Rebbe (see Igros Kodesh of the Frierdiker Rebbe*, Vol. 3, Letter #723), printed in HaTamim, emphasizes that in every place one reaches, in every location where one finds oneself, one must remember that one is an emissary of Divine Providence. Ultimately, one must illuminate through "the candle (which) is a mitzvah* and the Torah* (which) is a light," as well as through the luminary of the Torah*, which is Chassidus*, its practices and its customs.

Moreover, even when one leaves a place to return to one's permanent residence, one must maintain contact, in the appropriate manner, with those in the previous location, in order to strengthen their motivation and develop it from time to time.

Hashem demands only in proportion to the strength He grants, and it is therefore clear that you have received the strength necessary to carry out what must be your essential and profound mission, as it has just been defined.

With my blessing for good tidings regarding all of this,

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ג חשון, כבקשתו יזכירו אותו, בתו וזוגתו - שיחיו - כאו"א להמצטרך לו הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות, ובטח יזכהו השי"ת ויצליחו לבשר טוב מהנעשה אתם.

ובודאי למותר לעוררו על הפירוש החסידות במ"ש מד' מצעדי גבר כוננו ודרכו יחפץ, וכמבואר במכתב כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שנדפס בהתמים, שבמילא בכל מקום בואו והמצאו עליו לזכור שנשלח לשם מהשגחה עליונה וסו"ס צריך להאיר שם נר מצוה תורה אור ומאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות הדרכותי' ומנהגי'. ועוד זאת אשר אפילו כשעוזב המקום וחוזר למקומו קבוע, צריך להמשיך בקישור באופן המתאים עם חבריו במקום הקודם ע"מ לחזק בהם ההתעוררות ועוד להגדילה מזמן לזמן. וכיון שאין הקב"ה מבקש אלא לפי כחם, בודאי ניתנו לו מקודם הכחות למלאות תפקידו העיקרי והכי נפשי האמור.
