Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your two letters of the first day of Rosh Chodesh* Kislev, with their contents. You ask me whether the periodical Machanaim reaches me through the (Israeli) military delegation (see Igros Kodesh, Letter #3987) in the United States.

It did indeed reach me for several weeks at the end of 5715. But since then, this is no longer the case. And even when it was sent to me, no explanatory note was attached, aside from the sender's name.

To acquire the missing issues of Machanaim, it is perhaps preferable to contact the editorial office directly and pay what is needed, if a search is necessary. I thank you for what you can do to complete this series.

You will ensure that the study days (of the army; see Igros Kodesh, Letter #3862) taking place at Kfar Chabad proceed in the best possible manner. I will contribute to these, in the amount of one hundred liras, if expenses must be incurred.

Obviously, if you deem it necessary, you may distribute prizes (as rewards) to certain participants — for example, fascicles presenting the account of 19 Kislev (of the liberation of the Alter Rebbe*). The one hundred liras may also serve for this. I leave it to your judgment.

Moreover, it is necessary to disseminate the wellsprings to the outside, and it is therefore clear that contact with the participants in these study days must be maintained afterward, in the manner appropriate for each one.

I have received fascicles 2 through 6 of Machanaim.

מאשרים קבלת מכתביו (שנים) מאדר"ח כסלו עם המוסגר בם, ובשאלתו אם נתקבל המכ"ע מחנים דרך הנספח הצבאי בארצוה"ב. הנה משך איזה שבועות נתקבל, בשילהי שהת תשט"ו, ומאז נפסק, וגם כשהי' מתקבל לא הי' מצורף כל ביאור מלבד שם השולח הנ"ל. ואולי הנכון ביותר להשיג חוברות מחנים החסרות לפנות ישר להמערכת ולשלם שכר טרחה אם צריכים לחיפוש ות"ח בעד טרחתו גם בזה, כדי להשלים.

בודאי ישתדל שיהיו ימי העיון בכפר חב"ד על הצד היותר טוב, ואשתתף גם מצדי בסכום מאה לירות אם זקוקים לאיזה הוצאות בדבר. ופשוט שבאם ימצא לנכון יש לחלק לחלק מהמשתתפים איזה פרסים בצורת חוברות קונטרסים מגילת י"ט כסלו וכו', ויוכל להשתמש מהמאה לירות גם לתכלית זו, ואל בינתו אשען, ומובן ג"כ, מתאים לשיטת הפצת המעינות חוצה שצריך לסדר הדברים באופן שישאר קישור אח"כ עם כל המשתתפים בימי העיון, באופן המתאים לכל אחד.
