To the directors of Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*,
in Lod, may Hashem grant you long life,
Greetings and blessings,
It is no doubt unnecessary to remind you of the preparations necessary for the propitious days of 10 and 19 Kislev, as well as for the fifth light of Chanukah* (the date of the second liberation of the Alter Rebbe* from the Czarist prisons, the first being on 19 Kislev).
No doubt you have already done everything that was necessary.
Certainly, not everything depends solely on the preparation. It is the enthusiasm of the moment that is determinative. Nevertheless, this enthusiasm is proportional to the preparation, as are its consequences, which it is impossible to prepare in advance.
The revealed dimension of the Torah* establishes that this is indeed so, since, according to tractate Beitzah 2b, a weekday meal does not require preparation (not being intrinsically important), unlike that of Shabbos*.
I await good tidings from all of this, with all the necessary details.

...בודאי למותר לעוררם וכבר עשו בזה ככל הדרוש אודות הכנות הדרושות בקשר עם ימי הסגולה יו"ד, י"ט כסלו ונר חמישי דחנוכה, שאף שלא כל הענינים תלוים בהכנה שקודם לזה כ"א בהתעוררות על אתר וכו'. הנה ככל שתתגדל ההכנה תגדל גם ההתעוררות, ובמילא הענינים הבאים על ידם שאי אפשר להכינם לקודם וכמובן ג"כ מהדיו בגליא דתורה, ביצה ב,ב שסעודת חול אין צריכה הכנה משא"כ סעודתא דשבת, ואחכה לבשו"ט ומפורטות כדי צרכן בכל האמור...
