Igrot Kodesh · Letter 3914 — Health

Volume 12 · Letter 109

B"H

1st day of Rosh Chodesh* Kislev 5716

Brooklyn

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter of 29 Cheshvan, with the list it contained.

You mention your state of health and the difficulty of carrying out your sacred mission — that of educating Jewish children in Torah* and mitzvos*. In fact, these two situations are connected. If you want my opinion, try, to the fullest extent possible, to control yourself emotionally and to accept everything calmly.

Moreover, tell yourself that everything is an effect of Divine Providence. Do not look at those around you as if they wished to harm you and injure you at every step — even if that were indeed the case.

As you know, our holy Torah* observes that "the face is reflected in water." If you observe them with benevolence, they will do the same. This will improve your state of health in general and will facilitate your pedagogical function, as has been verified with various people and in diverse situations.

I enclose what has recently been published. You will surely make its content accessible to the broadest public. The merit of all depends on you.

With my blessing,
