To the Rav, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Shneur Zalman (Rav S. Z. Gourary),

Greetings and blessings,

You have adopted the positive practice of participating in the Chassidic gathering* of the Shabbos* that blesses the month (the one that precedes Rosh Chodesh*, in accordance with the custom instituted by the Frierdiker Rebbe*). How much more must you do so when it concerns Kislev* — the month of liberation (of the Alter Rebbe* and the Mitteler Rebbe*), of the victory of Chassidus*, which is the Tree of Life, in which there are no (questions and controversies) — but only good and kindness.

I therefore send you herewith the main outlines of the Chassidic discourse* I intend to deliver, without making a vow, on the occasion of this Shabbos* that blesses the month.

May Hashem grant that distance not be a separation, that each one of us receive all the blessings satisfying all needs, within the entire Jewish people.

כיון שנהג במנהג טוב השתתף יחד בהתועדות דשבת מברכין, ועאכו"כ שבת מברכין חדש כסלו הוא חדש הגאולה ונצחון תורת החסידות אילנא דחיי דלית תמן כו' רק טוב וחסד, הנה מוסגר פה ר"פ מהמאמר אשר בל"נ בדעת[י] לחזור ש"ק מברכין זה, ויה"ר אשר המקום לא יפסיק ויחולו כל הברכות על כאו"א מאתנו בהמצטרך לו בתוך כלל ישראל.
