I am surprised not to receive any news from you for a particularly long period. Not only am I unaware of the details of what is happening, but moreover, I truly receive no news at all.

I am all the more surprised given that this is the period of Tishrei* — a month of comprehensive scope, conditioning the entire year, fully satiated with all the good, in order to distribute it throughout this year.

Now, it is precisely during this period that you have decided to remain silent. May Hashem grant that the deficiency affects only your correspondence, but not the activities that should have been carried out during this seventh month, before it, and after it.

I thank you in advance for kindly sending me, as soon as possible, a letter with all the appropriate detail in this regard.

לפלא שזה זמן רב ביותר שאין מהם כל ידיעות לא רק ידיעות מפורטות אלא גם ידיעות בכלל, והתמי' מתגדלת עוד עי"ז שדוקא בתקופת תשרי שהוא חדש הכללי של כל השנה ומושב בכל טוב ובתכלית להמשיך טוב זה על כל השנה, הנה דוקא אז נקטו בשתיקה, ויה"ר שלא יהי' זה אלא חסרון בכתיבה לחוד, והלואי שלא הי' חסרון בפועל בפעולות מתאימות במשך הימים דחדש השביעי ושלפניו ושלאחריו.
