To the organization of women and girls of Chabad*

Blessings and greetings,

I have just received your letter of 1 Cheshvan, with its contents — the report of your annual meeting (which took place on the third day of Chol HaMoed Sukkos*, in the Yehudah halls in Tel Aviv; see Beis Chabad*, no. 10, pp. 35–36). I am surprised that this report is so brief and reaches me with such a delay. But of course, reporting here is not essential. What matters above all is not to reduce the activities.

I read with satisfaction in this report that the meeting went well, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Our Sages teach that "it is not the study but the practice that is essential." No doubt, the activities began shortly after the necessity of carrying them out was emphasized, in order to take full advantage of the enthusiasm (that accompanies decision-making).

Perhaps it would have been good to publish a small booklet containing the report of this meeting, a summary of the presentations, and some photographs. The presentation must, of course, be pleasant, for the goal is to attract new members to your organization and to engage those who are already part of it.

It would be good to consult among yourselves on this matter. If you decide to proceed (with publishing this booklet), I will find a way to have it published through a special fund at my disposal.

Concerning the areas of activity to which you allude, I would like to emphasize one point connected to the present period. This is the necessity of establishing ties with the mothers of the students attending the schools of the network (Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch in the Holy Land) and guiding them. This is particularly important at the beginning of the school year. You will therefore inform me of what has been accomplished in all domains, and in this one in particular.

ז"ע נתקבל מכתבן מא' חשון עם המוסגר בו דו"ח מהכנוס הארצי, ולפלא קצת שמקצרים כל כך בכתיבה ובאה היא גם באיחור, ומובן שאין עיקר בכתיבה לכאן אלא שלא יקצרו בפעולות.

נעם לי לקרות בהדו"ח ע"ד סידור הכנוס הארצי שהי' כדבעי, הן בכמות והן באיכות, וע"פ הוראת חכמינו ז"ל, לא המדרש עיקר אלא המעשה, בודאי סמוך לזמן התעוררות התחילו ג"כ בפעולות שינצלו את ההתעוררות ככל האפשרי, ואפשר הי' כדאי להדפיס חוברת קטנה דו"ח מכנוס זה, בו יכניסו תמצית ההרצאות איזה תמונות וכיו"ב, מובן שצריך הדבר להעשות בטוב טעם כיון שעיקר הכוונה להמשיך יותר חבירות להארגון ולענין החבירות הקיימות עוד יותר, וכדאי שתתייעצו ביניהן אודות זה, ואם תחליטנה לחיוב, הנה אמציא הוצאות הדפסה מקרן מיוחד אשר ברשותי.

בקשר לנקודות העבודה אודותן כותבות, רצוני להדגיש בזה נקודה התלוי' בזמן, והיא: התקשרות וההשפעה על המהות דתלמידים-ות דבתי ספר הרשת אשר נוגע ביותר בהתחלת זמן הלימודים כמובן, ובטח יודיעוני מפעולותיהן בכל הנקודות וגם זו בכללן.

בברכת הצלחה בעבודתן בקדש, מתוך בריאות והרחבת הדעת.
