Greetings and blessings,

I am surprised not to have heard from you since your departure (following the festivals of Tishrei*). Admittedly, you have fulfilled the words of the verse "And Yaakov went on his way," carrying with you all the acquisitions of Tishrei*, the seventh month (counting from Nissan*), which is satiated with all the good, and distributing them to all the domains of the coming year. No doubt you will complete all of this at the next opportunity. Likewise, you will send me the newspaper clippings in which words of encouragement have been published.

I am sending you an excerpt from the Morgen Journal (a Yiddish periodical published in the United States) regarding the books distributed in various places by the association of survivors. After the Shoah, an association called "Reconstruction of Jewish Culture" was formed, whose purpose was to gather books that had been preserved from the Nazi grip, in order to distribute them to Jewish public libraries throughout the world. Kindly look into this, as some Chassidim* have done in other places. They, through contacts — generally unofficial — were able to exchange the rare books found in this collection, which of course are not studied in countries such as Australia or Brazil, for works published by Kehot*. These books were then shipped to the library here, which serves the broadest public.

The advantage of such an exchange is twofold. In this way, valuable books will not remain in places where they serve no one, and in those same places, one will be able to consult Chassidus* books from Kehot* editions, or at least prayer books. This will necessarily result in additional people who will pray or read these works and take an interest in them.

I leave it to your judgment to determine how to put all of this into practice, and I will therefore say no more. Of course, the shipping and packaging costs will be covered from here. I thank you in advance.

לפלא שמזמן נסעו אין ממנו כל ידיעות, אף שהתחיל הענין דויעקב הלך לדרכו שלקח עמו כל הענינים דחדש תשרי, חדש השביעי המושבע בכל טוב, ומשפיע טוב זה על הענינים דשאר חדשי השנה, הבטח ימלא בהזדמנות הכי קרובה, וכן ישלח קטע העתונים מזה שנדפס בהם דברי התעוררות וכו.

מוסג"פ קטע מעתון מארגן זשורנאל ע"ד הספרים שנתחלקו למקומות שונים מספרי שארית הפליטה, ומטובו להתענין בזה, וע"ד שעשו איזה מאנ"ש שי' במקומות אחרים, אשר באו בדברים ע"פ רוב באופן בלתי רשמי להחליף הספרים שאינם מצוים שישנם באוסף ספרים זה, ופשיטא שאין לומדים בהם במדינות כאלו כמו אויסטראליא בראזיל וכו', על ספרי קה"ת, ולשלח הספרים להספרי' דכאן, שמשמשת תועלת לרבים. והתועלת בכ"ז כפולה, שספרי יקרי המציאות לא יהיו מונחים בקרן זוית כדבר שאין לו הופכים, ועוד זאת שתהי' האפשריות במקומות אלו לראות בספרי קה"ת של חסידות וכיו"ב או עכ"פ סידורים וכו', שבל ימלט שלא יתוסף עי"ז מתפלל או עכ"פ קורא ומתענין, ואל בינתו אשען איך להביא הענין לידי פועל, וד"ל. מובן שהוצאות המשלוח והאריזה וכו' בצירוף תודה רבה יסלקו מכאן.
