To the Rav, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letters of 2 and 5 Marcheshvan, with their contents. I am surprised that, for the time being, none of you indicates to me with precision how the month of Tishrei* went — the month that has a comprehensive scope extending to the entire year, that is satiated with all the good, and that is the source of the good of the entire year.

How much more is this so for you, who have students. Admittedly, during Tishrei*, studies are partially suspended. Nevertheless, an effort in this regard remains necessary, as I emphasized last year. It is therefore necessary to gather the teachers and at least a portion of the students. Even under the conditions that presently prevail, this should be possible in an appropriate manner.

I am astonished that the trip to France (of the students of the school) is dragging on to such an extent. It seems to me, indeed, that since 8 Elul there has been talk of the departure of ten students.

I enclose what has been published recently. No doubt you will make appropriate use of its content.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מב' וה' מ"ח עם המוסגר בהם, ולפלא שעד עתה אין איש מהם מודיע בפרטיות, איך ניצלו הימים דחדש תשרי הוא חדש הכללי דכל השנה כולה, המושבע בכל טוב, ושממנו נמשך הטוב על כל השנה. וביחוד בנוגע להמושפעים שלהם, ואף, כי חדש תשרי אין הסדרים במילואם, אבל בכ"ז בטח השתדלו, ע"ד שעוררתי על זה אשתקד, להפגש עם המורים, חלק מהתלמידים וכו', אשר אפילו בתנאים השוררים עתה הי' בודאי מקום לזה בצורה מתאימה.

לפלא שמתארך כ"כ הנסיעה לצרפת, בה בשעה אשר כמדומני עוד בח' אלול נדבר ע"ד נסיעת יותר עשרה תלמידים.

מוסג"פ מה שהו"ל בזמן האחרון, ובטח ינצל תוכנו באופן המתאים...
