Greetings and blessings,
I was pained to learn that peace does not reign in the home of your daughter and son-in-law. I wonder whether what is simply lacking is a little "glue." Indeed, two hard elements cannot fully adhere to one another. In such a case, one applies a drop, a few drops, a very thin stream of a liquid and flexible substance. And then the two elements adhere.
If someone could explain to both parties, separately, that it is fitting to diminish all these disputes and ultimately eliminate them — with both sides showing goodwill — no one would likely consider it a failure, and both would begin to act accordingly.
May Hashem grant that this come about very soon and without difficulty, for the pain you have experienced in the past is quite sufficient. You will therefore be able to share good news with me in this matter as well.

... נצטערתי ללא השלום הבית דבתו וחתנו שיחיו, וחוששני שאין המצב חסר אלא "דבק", וידוע שענינו הוא אשר כיון שקשה על גבי קשה אין חיבורם עולה יפה מביאים בינתים טפה או טפות אחדות או שטח דק מן הדק עכ"פ של דבר נוזל וגמוש, מתדבקים שני הדברים גם יחד. ואם הי' מי שהוא מסביר לשני הצדדים לאחד שלא בפני השני שכל הסכסוכים שביניהם יש להחלישם וגם לבטלם במשך הזמן ע"י רצון הטוב בזה משני הצדדים, בטח לא היו חושבים זה למיעוט דמותם ומתחילים בפעולות בכיוון זה.
ויה"ר שיהי' זה בקרוב ומבלי קישוים (ובפרט שכבר יצאו בעגמת נפש שעבר עליהם בעבר), ויוכל לבשר טוב גם בזה...
