Greetings and blessings,
You describe your own nature and give me a lengthy account of it (1). You should know the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, according to which the prohibition of lashon hara* also applies to one's own person (2). Consult the Rambam*, Laws of Dispositions, chapter 7, paragraph 2.
You also cite Tractate* Ketubot* 17a, which provides precisely the answer to your question. Indeed, it is said that "the view of Beis Shammai*, as opposed to that of Beis Hillel*, is not a Mishnah*" (3). And the question that arises regarding Beis Shammai can be resolved based on what the Likkutei Torah*, Shir HaShirim*, says in the Chassidic discourse entitled "Our Sages taught: How does one dance before the bride."
(1) Highlighting his own faults.
(2) See, on this subject, Letter #2056.
(3) And therefore should not be challenged.
