Greetings and blessings,

I have just received your letter of 10 Elul, with the request for a blessing it contained. You tell me that you are striving to remain in contact with the people upon whom you have been exercising your influence until now, and I am pleased by this. Obviously, you should also strive to widen this circle, in the proper manner. The publication you mention is indeed a means of achieving such a result.

I enclose a pamphlet on Elul, which you will surely be able to use while it is still timely. In this regard, you will surely tell me whether the text of our talk has been printed in Machanayim*. Since then, a copy has been sent to the young people of the Chabad* association. No doubt my lack of response was interpreted in the proper manner — that is, as agreement to publish it without modification.

Likewise, I am pleased by what you tell me of the activities of the young people of the Chabad association in general and of those carried out in certain locations in particular. Here again, you should publicize what is being done, in the proper manner, in order to awaken "the competition of scholars" in other locations.

You tell me that your birthday will soon arrive, and may Hashem therefore grant that you have a year of success in Torah* study, the practice of the mitzvos*, and fervent prayer.

On the occasion of the new year which approaches, for us and for all of Israel, for good and for blessing, may Hashem grant that you and your wife be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year.

ז"ע נתקבל מכתבו מיו"ד אלול עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו, ונהניתי ממ"ש שמשתדל להחזיק בהקשרים עם אותם שהיתה השפעתו עליהם עד עתה. מובן מעצמו שישתדל ג"כ להרחיב באופן המתאים, ואחת העצות בזה הוא ג"כ ענין ההדפסה שמזכיר. ומוסג"פ לקוט אלול שאפשר יוכל לנצל גם את זה אם עוד הזמן גרמא. דא"ג בטח יודיע אם נדפס ב"מחנים" העתק שיחתינו, שמאז שלוחה לכאן מצעירי אגו"ח ההעתקה ובטח פירשו העדר המענה כדבעי, היינו שאפשר להדפיסה בלי שינויים.

כן נהניתי ממ"ש אודות פעולות צעירי אגו"ח בכלל ובמקומות מיוחדים בפרט ובטח גם על זה יפרסם באופן המתאים כדי לעורר קנאת סופרים במקומות אחרים.

וליום הולדתו שכותב אודותו, הנה יה"ר שתהי' שנת הצלחה אצלו בלימוד התורה קיום המצות ועבודת התפלה.

ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה יכתב ויחתם הוא וזוגתו שיחיו לשנה טובה ומתוקה...
