Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter, in which you refer to the study of the Tanya*, indicating that you do not possess the pamphlet in which its division according to the annual cycle — established by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us — is found.

I enclose this pamphlet, and it is clear that this study possesses a special virtue, just as do the other two — pertaining to Chumash* and Tehillim* — that were instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe. Nevertheless, it is also necessary to study the Torah*, in particular "the Tree of Life" — its inner teaching which, in our era, has been revealed and elucidated clearly and profoundly through Chassidus*. Moreover, this study must be intensive.

With my blessing that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

במענה על מכתבו, בו כותב אשר בנוגע ללימוד התניא, הנה אין אצלו החוברת בה הועתקה חלוקת התניא לימי השנה מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

הנה מוסג"פ החוברת, ומובן אשר זהו שיעור לימוד בתור סגולה מיוחדת וכמו השיעורים השנים דחומש ותהלים באופן תקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, אבל מצד הענין דלימוד התורה ובפרט באילנא דחיי פנימיות התורה שבימינו אלה נתגלתה ומבוארת ביותר ובעומק ההעלם בתורת החסידות, הנה מוכרח הלימוד בשופי .
