To the man of quality and distinction, Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, of generous disposition, Mr. Yitzchak Elmaleh (1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have received your letter and the account of your visit to the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt very soon and in our days by our righteous Moshiach*.

I find, unfortunately, in this account the confirmation of the information I had obtained through various sources in recent months.

You are surely aware of the various assurances given by the parties on the occasion of the elections, which they do not always regard as serious proposals that must be honored.

Consequently, it is important that the immigrants originating from Morocco (2) who already reside in the Holy Land exert the broadest pressure on these parties to keep their word. It is surely unnecessary to impress upon you the need to intervene in this direction, to the fullest extent possible.

May Hashem grant that the efforts you have invested in improving the situation of our brothers, the children of Israel, residing in Morocco — both those already in our Holy Land and those still in Morocco — be crowned with success and yield a concrete benefit.

No doubt you will redouble your ardor in pursuing and expanding this work, particularly regarding the education based on the sacred values of the sons and daughters of Israel in Morocco. It is difficult to measure how much this is the need of the hour.

With my blessing for success in your sacred mission, especially in the domain of proper education, and wishing you to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

הנני מאשר בזה קבלת מכתבו בצירוף הדו"ח מביקורו באה"ק תבנה ותכונן במהרה בימינו על ידי משיח צדקנו.

ולדאבוני רואה אני מהדו"ח אישור להידיעות שמתקבלות אצלי ממקורות שונים זה כמה וכמה חדשים.

בטח ידוע לכ' מהבטחות השונות של המפלגות בקשר עם הבחירות, אשר לא תמיד מתחשבים בהן שהן הבטחות רציניות שצריך לקיימן. ולכן נחוץ אשר בהנוגע לעולי מרוקו שהם כבר באה"ק ת"ו ינצלו את הלחץ הכי גדול על מפלגות אלו שיעמדו בהבטחתן. ובטח למותר לעורר את כ' להשתדל בזה ככל האפשר.

ויהי רצון אשר עמלו שהשקיע לשפר מצב אחב"י תושבי מרוקו, בין אלה שכבר בארצנו הקדושה ת"ו ובין אלו שנמצאים במרוקו, יביא תוצאות טובות ויראה פרי טוב בעמלו, ובטח יוסיף חיל בתוספות התאמצות להמשיך בעבודתו זו ולהגדילה, ובפרט בהנוגע לחינוך על טהרת הקדש של בני ובנות ישראל במרוקו, שדרישת השעה בזה אין לשער.

בברכת הצלחה בעבודתו ובפרט בעבודתו בחינוך הכשר, ובברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה.
