It is dreadful that studies were not continued for at least one week after the end of the school year. Indeed, this is a matter of principle (1), in addition to the value of the breath of children who study Torah* (2).
Obviously, the reasons you cite are by no means sufficient. The difficulties you mention could have been easily resolved.
May Hashem grant that you make up for the deficiency of the past during the coming school year, and that you introduce an addition as well. Our Sages* say, indeed, that "one ascends in matters of holiness," and they specify that "to whoever adds (3), it is added (4)."
