Greetings and blessings,

I would like to repeat once more the idea I have developed in several letters addressed to the Chassidim* and to the institutions. In practice, it is inconceivable that the survival of one institution should lead to the disappearance of another.

The continuity of a Chabad* institution is therefore entirely independent of the general situation of the Chabad movement in the Holy Land. This factor should therefore not be taken into account. All the more so, those who belong to this institution should not concern themselves with improving the lot of Chabad as a whole in the Holy Land.

First of all, such a conception is unacceptable for moral reasons. Even in the simplest sense, one who currently asks what will happen tomorrow or the day after, who wishes to take into account also what occurs outside one's own four cubits* in the strict sense, will arrive at the conclusion that such a way of seeing things is harmful — indeed, that it endangers the very institution whose leadership has adopted it.

Consequently, if this small Yeshivah* considers only its own benefit and what will yield immediate return, it can indeed pray and prolong that prayer until everything described above comes to pass, Heaven forbid. Perhaps, through all of this, it will change its outlook, a little before then.

... אזכיר עכ"פ עוה"פ הנקודה עלי' הזכרתי בכמה ממכתבי לכמה מאנ"ש והמוסדות, אשר במציאות אין קיום כלל להקס"ד שמוסד אחד יתקיים על חשבון הירוס השני, ואשר קיום מוסד חב"ד אין תלוי כלל וכלל במצב הכללי של עניני חב"ד באה"ק ת"ו, ובמילא אין זה נוגע כלל, עאכו"כ שאין כדאית איזה טרחה של אנשי המוסד בשביל הרמת קרן חב"ד בכללות באה"ק ת"ו.

ומלבד שאין קיום לסברא זו מפני רוחניות הענינים, הנה גם כפשוטו המתבונן עתה במה שיהי' למחר ולמחרתים ורוצה להביא בחשבון גם הנעשה מחוץ לד' אמות שלו המצומצמות, מבין, אשר שיטה הנ"ל לא רק שמזקת היא בכלל אלא שלראש ולראשונה מזקת מוסד זה שהנהלתו אוחזת בשיטה זו, ומזה מובן אשר אם הנהלת מוסד... מביאה בחשבון רק הרווחים של הישיבה המצומצמה ורואים רק הרווחים המידים, הנה יש להתפלל ולהאריך בתפלה זו שיתארך הזמן עד שיבואו תוצאות האמורות לעיל ח"ו ובמילא כולי האי ואולי יחזרו בהם ובשיטתם בנתים...
