Igrot Kodesh · Letter 375 — Chinuch and Communal Fundraising

To the great Rav, Chassid* who fears Hashem* and dedicates himself to communal needs, Rav M. Ashkenazi[1],

I greet you and bless you,

Enclosed you will find the booklet published on the occasion of the liberation festival*[2]. It has just appeared, and no doubt you will make it available to as many people as possible.

You have presumably received the letter from Rav Chaim Mendel Aizik Hadakov[3]. The period between 12 Tammuz* and 18 Elul*[4] is a special time, and it should be used to intensify the Ma'amad* [5] collection from all those who can contribute. Indeed, the Sages said 'all who can act,' not 'all who act.' Therefore, whatever can be done should be done.

You should also seek, among the members of your community, assistance for the Merkaz L'Inyanei Chinuch*[6] — whether through membership dues or through donations for publications. Words cannot express how important this is, and you will certainly do everything in your power.

I close by greeting all those close to you and offering my blessing for the liberation festival*,
