To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav David (1),

Greetings and blessings,

You tell me that it is difficult to organize a minyan* where you reside. This is precisely the proof that you must indeed reside in that place and, by all means, strengthen Yiddishkeit* and its dissemination there. Indeed, you are on location and it is therefore easier for you to act, directly and even more so indirectly.

For you have had the merit of being one of the students of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*, to whom the Rebbe Rashab* bestowed the title of "candles to illuminate." Those who are in that place will surely assist you. But even if this is not the case, Heaven forbid, your responsibility and likewise your merit will not be diminished on that account. On the contrary, they will be all the greater.

Nothing can stand in the way of the will. Moreover, you know the ruling of the Heavenly tribunal (2), according to which, by virtue of the self-sacrifice* of the Alter Rebbe*, those who are connected to him and follow his path would have the upper hand in everything pertaining to Torah*, the fear of Hashem, and good deeds. This is printed in the summaries and notes on the Tanya*, at the end of page 122.

I am surprised that you say nothing of your study of the revealed dimension of the Torah and of Chassidus*, in addition to the three studies that concern everyone, instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. These pertain to Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya, and are well known. You will surely specify all of this for me on the next occasion. In such matters, the more details one provides, the better.

... מה שכותב אשר יש קישוים במנין במקום שם דר וכו'. הנה מצב זה דורש שימשיך דירתו במקום זה וישתדל בכל יכולתו בהחזקת עניני יהדות והפצתה, אשר כאדם הנמצא על אתר קל יותר לעשות בזה הן בגלוי ועוד יותר מן הצד, ובפרט שזכה להיות מתלמידי תומכי תמימים אשר כ"ק אדמו"ר (מוהרש"ב) נ"ע הניח עליהם שם התואר נרות להאיר דוקא, ובודאי ימצא לו עוזרים מבין הנמצאים במקום זה, אבל גם אם ח"ו לא, אין זה ממעט אחריותו וגם זכותו, אלא אדרבה עוד מוסיף בזה, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון, ובפרט ע"פ פסק בי"ד של מעלה, אשר בגלל המסירות נפש (של רבנו הזקן) הנה בכל ענין של תורה יראת שמים ומדות טובות תהי' יד מקושריו והולכי בעקבותיו על העליונה (נדפס בספר קיצורים והערות לתניא דף קכ"ב בסופו).

לפלא שאין מזכיר ע"ד שיעוריו בלימוד תורת הנגלה ובתורת החסידות נוסף על שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים, ובודאי ימלא בהזדמנות הבאה וכל המפרט בכגון דא הרי זה משובח.
