Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter of 23 Menachem Av, which followed an interruption. The One Who guards His people Israel, Who "neither slumbers nor sleeps," will protect each and every one of you within the Jewish people with a watchful eye, materially and spiritually.

You will experience success in your sacred mission, in a supernatural manner, in tranquility of mind and body.

I enclose a compilation devoted to Elul*, the content of which you will surely make available to the greatest number. The merit of what is public depends on you.

With my blessing that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

N.B.: You ask me how to reach the children of Israel in Morocco who lack knowledge (literally: "who did not serve their masters as much as they should have"). You know that "the righteous are in the image of their Creator." Hashem Himself says: "I inscribed the Essence of Myself and gave it" (in the Torah*, at the revelation of Sinai — the initial letters of the Hebrew words forming this phrase spell Anochi, "I," the first word of the Ten Commandments). The same is true of our masters, the masters of Chabad*, who expressed the essence of themselves in their Chassidic discourses and holy talks. One must therefore draw from these texts and, in the expression of the Tzemach Tzedek*, continue this work until the coming of Moshiach*.
