Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter of 28 Tammuz.
You surely know that in the meantime, this man's son visited me here. I asked him to convey my greetings and I gave him a Tanya*, as a protection, so that it would be placed near him, in the room where he spends most of his time.
It would be good to endeavor that this Tanya* be wrapped twice (i.e., in two coverings placed one over the other), if what takes place in that room makes this necessary (for instance, if the man must undress or wash in that room). For obvious reasons, I did not say this to his son.

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ח תמוז, ובטח נודע שבינתים ביקר כאן בנו של מר... ובקשתיו למסור פ"ש וכן הספר תניא לסגולה שיהי' מונח בסמיכות מקום בחדר בו נמצא... שי' רוב זמנו, וצריך הי' להשתדל שיעטפו את התניא כלי בתוך כלי אם בחדר זה עושים גם ענינים כאלו הדורשים זה, אף שמטעמים מובנים לא אמרתי זה לבנו של הנ"ל...
