Blessings and greetings,
It is surely unnecessary to remind you of the need to know the laws that one applies daily (see letter no. 3515 on this subject), and you will underscore this wherever you extend your influence. Indeed, when one studies the Shulchan Aruch* in order, a long period is required (before knowing the laws whose application is daily). Yet each day must have its content (whose fulfillment is conditioned by knowledge of these laws).
One must therefore endeavor to select a few chapters (of the Shulchan Aruch*) and systematize their study. Better still, you will choose a few chapters of the Derech Chaim*, with the Nesiv Chaim*, which is printed in several Siddurim*.
The purpose of man is, indeed, to fear Hashem and to observe His mitzvos*. It is therefore indispensable to study the portion of Torah* that awakens this fear of Hashem — that is, the laws that enable one to observe the mitzvos*.
May Hashem grant that you be able to tell me good news of all of this.

... בודאי למותר לעוררו, וכן למסור עד"ז לכל מקום שהשפעו מגעת אודות הנחיצות הגדולה לדעת הלכות הצריכות לדעתם בחיי היום יומים, אשר כשלומדים שו"ע ובפרט על הסדר מתארך הזמן בה בשעה שכל יומא ויומא עביד עבידתי'. ולכן יש להשתדל להנהיג ג"כ לימוד סימנים מלוקטים או יותר טוב סימנים מלוקטים מדרך החיים עם נתיב החיים הנדפס בכמה סידורים, והרי זה כל האדם את האלקים ירא ואת מצותיו שמור. ולכן מוכרח בכלל לימוד התורה בחלקה המביאה לקיום אלקים ירא, הלימוד בהלכות הצריכות המביא לואת מצותיו שמור, והשי"ת יצליחו לבשר טוב בכל הנ"ל.
