I am responding (this telegram was addressed to the Chabad* association in the Holy Land) to the question posed by many people.

I ask you to disseminate my decisive position, according to which every man and every woman among those who fear Hashem must take part in the elections (see letter no. 2559 on this subject) for the Knesset* and for the various governing bodies. One must vote for the most Orthodox list and convince others to do the same.

Not taking part in the vote would have the consequence of strengthening the lists that oppose Hashem, His Torah*, and His mitzvos*.

במענה לשאלת רבים, אבקשם לפרסם דעתי ברורה אשר כל אחד ואחת מהחרדים מחויב להשתתף בבחירות לכנסת ולרשויות המקומיות ולהצביע בעד הרשימה היותר חרדית, ולהשפיע גם על זולתו בזה והמניעה מזה מגדילה בדרך ממילא כח רשימות המנגדים על השם תורתו ומצותי'.
