To the great Rav*, Chassid* of broad knowledge,

Rav* Yosef Baruch (Rav Y. B. Blumenfeld; see letter no. 3388 regarding him),

Blessings and greetings,

I received your letters in their time, and I thought I would have a little time to respond to your questions about the water libations (performed on the altar in the Beis HaMikdash* during the festival of Sukkos*). Unfortunately, there has been fulfilled in my case the teaching of our Sages*: "Do not say, 'When I have time, I will study,' for perhaps you will never have time." Even now, my occupations are numerous. Moreover, they continue to multiply.

I would like, through these few lines, to ask you to excuse my delay, which is attributable to the situation I have just described. Obviously, I have not abandoned my project, Heaven forbid. Ultimately, I will surely find a moment. Nevertheless, as our Sages* note, this also depends on the Mazal*.

On the occasion of the days of the liberation of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us — the 12th and 13th of Tammuz*, dates of our deliverance and the freedom of our souls — a pamphlet was published presenting the continuation of the imprisonment account, which I am enclosing. You will surely make its content available to the greatest number. The public merit depends on you.

בעתו קבלתי מכתביו ואמרתי ועוד מעט ויהי' זמני פנוי לענות לכת"ר על מכתבו בניסוך המים וכו', ולצערי נתקיים הפסק אל תאמר לכשאפנה כו', כי גם עתה עדיין הטרדות מרובות ואדרבה עוד מתרבות. ובאתי בשורותי אלה לבקש סליחתו על האיחור - כיון שהוא מסיבות הנ"ל. ומובן שח"ו לא נתיאשתי מזה, וסו"ס בודאי תמצא השעה, אלא, שכמרז"ל, אפילו זה תלוי במזל.

בקשר עם ימי הגאולה של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע - י"ב וי"ג תמוז - גאולתנו ופדות נפשינו, הו"ל חוברת המשך המאסר המוסגרה פה, אשר בודאי יזכה בתוכנה גם את הרבים וזכות הרבים תלוי בו.
