Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter, in which you describe the various events you have recently experienced. You inform me of your claims against the insurance company and also against the company that employed you when this event occurred.

No doubt you are consulting with a lawyer who is well versed in this area. He will be able to determine whether these claims are well-founded and to whom it is appropriate to address them.

Another point, which is essential: if, as you say, such accidents have recently befallen you, it is clear that you must fulfill a greater number of mitzvos* and align your daily life with the teachings of our holy Torah*, Torah* of life. For there is surely a sign from Heaven in this, intended to convey to you the need to improve certain areas and certain practices. If you change things spiritually, Hashem will do the same materially.

It would be good for your husband to have his Tefillin* checked and for him to pray every day. Every weekday, he will give three coins to tzedakah* before the prayer. You yourself will scrupulously light the Shabbos* and Yom Tov* candles. Before doing so, you will also give three coins to tzedakah*.

Likewise, you will place kosher* Mezuzos*, in accordance with Halachah*, on every door of your home. May Hashem grant that you soon be able to give me good news of all of this. You will tell me, in particular, that the situation has improved.

במענה על מכתבה, בו כותבת אודות המאורעות השונים אשר עברו עליהם בזמן האחרון, ובהנוגע לתביעותיהם מחברת הבטחון וכן מהחברה בה שרתו אשר בזמן השירות קרה המאורע.

בודאי מתייעצים הם עם עורך דין הבקי בחוקים ודינים אלו, ויודע אם יש יסוד לתביעותיהם, ולאיזה מקום לפנות על דבר זה.

נוסף על זה והוא העיקר, אשר אם כדבריהם הוא שקרו כזה מקרי אסון ר"ל במשך הזמן האחרון, בודאי יש להוסיף בעיני מצות השי"ת ושיתנהגו בחייהם היום יומי מתאים להוראות תורתנו הק' תורת חיים, כי בודאי זהו רמז מן השמים אשר ישנם ענינים והנהגות הדורשים תיקון, ולכשיתוקן ברוחניות יתקן השם יתברך גם בגשמיות, וצריך הי' לבדוק התפילין של בעלה שי' ושיתפלל בכל יום, ובימות החול יפריש שתים שלש פרוטות לצדקה קודם התפלה, היא עצמה תדייק בהדלקת נרות בערב שבת קדש ובערב יום טוב, וקודם הדלקת הנרות תפריש גם כן לצדקה שתים שלש פרוטות, וכן יזהרו שיהיו על כל דלתות ביתם מזוזות כשרות כדין, ויהי רצון אשר תוכל לבשר טוב בקרוב מהטבת המצב בכל האמור לעיל.
