Blessings and greetings,

I have duly received your letters of 2 and 10 Tammuz*.

Some time ago, I wrote to several Chassidim* (see, for example, letter no. 453) who deal with — or, more precisely, who should deal with — the dissemination of books, telling them that it would be good to publish laudatory articles about Chabad* literature. For this is also a means of disseminating the wellsprings (of Chassidus*) outward, and as far as you are concerned, it will additionally be useful for the distribution of these books.

You speak of combining the four volumes of the description of the imprisonment (of the Frierdiker Rebbe*) into a single volume. In fact, the first three volumes have already been published in Casablanca, Morocco (see letter no. 3083 on this subject). Numerous copies were then shipped to the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt. We are currently searching for additional excerpts related to this imprisonment. If we find them, we will publish a volume containing both the four installments and these excerpts, insofar as they are suitable. The final decision and the practical arrangements are, for now, pending.

It is unnecessary to specify that when a publication is produced relating to Chabad*, one must not limit oneself to a single newspaper affiliated with one party, but must also include other newspapers, in order to reach the most diverse and broadest circles. The same applies to the laudatory articles mentioned above.

זה מזמן כתבתי לאחדים מאנ"ש המתעסקים, או יותר צודק צריכים היו להתעסק בהפצת הספרים, שכדאי בכלל שיודפסו מאמרי הערכה על ספרות חב"ד כי גם זהו אחד הדרכים להפצת המעינות חוצה ובענינם ה"ז גם תועלת להפצת הספרים...

מ"ש אודות חוברת בו יוכללו ארבעת החלקים ע"ד המאסר, הנה שלשה מהם כבר נדפסו בקסבלנקה - מרוקה - ואז שלחו הרבה טופסים לאה"ק ת"ו, ומחפשים עוד קטעים להמאסר, שבאם ימצאו יו"ל כל הארבעה חלקים בצירוף הקטעים, אם ימצאו מתאימים, והחלטה בזה בכלל והפרטים בזה, לע"ע תלוים הם.

בודאי למותר לעורר אשר המתפרסם ע"ד חב"ד, כדאי שיתפרסם לא רק במכ"ע אחד של מפלגה אחת, אלא גם בשאר המכ"ע בכדי שיגיע לחוגים היותר שונים ורחבים, וה"ה למאמרי הערכה שנזכר אודותם לעיל.
