Blessings and greetings,
I am responding to your letter of 9 Tammuz*, in which you inform me of the economic situation at your home, specifying that it compromises your future from various perspectives.
You must present all aspects of this situation to three of your friends (see the preceding letter), one of whom should be your spiritual guide — the one from whom you seek counsel.
Hashem will suggest to them the correct idea, and they will indicate to you what is good for you, materially and spiritually.
You tell me that you lead the prayer service at the Yeshivah* for the three daily prayers (the addressee of this letter is presumably in mourning), and that this creates dissension among the students who pray at that time (who contest the pace of the prayer).
You know what the Alter Rebbe* writes on this subject in Iggeres HaKodesh*, Kuntres Acharon*, page 162b. The one who leads the prayer service must pray for an average length of time — that is, neither too long nor too quickly, Heaven forbid.
In a Yeshivah*, one must additionally take into account its organization, its schedules for prayer and study. May Hashem grant you success.
With my blessing,
On behalf of the Rebbe, shlita*,
the secretary,
