To the great Rav*, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav* Yitzchak Levy (of Reading, in the United States),

Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter of 8 Tammuz*. I thought that we would participate in the same Chassidic* farbrengen* (that the addressee of this letter would come to the Rebbe*) during the days of the 12th and 13th of Tammuz*, which have just passed.

You know what can be deduced from the fact that these days have just passed, according to the explanation of Chassidus*. Indeed, they allow one to recognize the advancement. And this is precisely the quality of Jews — souls clothed in bodies — that the angels do not possess, for they are described as stagnant, immobile (as it is said: "I will make you advance among those who are immobile"), as explained in Torah Or*, page 24b.

It is regrettable that the construction of the Mikveh* is being delayed in your city. For who knows? Each day that passes without this construction being completed leads to the loss of what could have been gained by anticipating it. Now, who can claim to know the secret of souls?

You write to me that the only problem you face is financial. If that is the case, the solution should be easier. Perhaps it is possible to take out a loan that would be repaid with the proceeds of the collection, so that this Mikveh* can function concretely as soon as possible. May Hashem grant you success.

I am enclosing herewith a pamphlet recounting the continuation of the imprisonment of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. You will surely make its content available to the greatest number. The public merit depends on you.

כידוע דיוק הלשון דאזלינן מני', ומפורש בתורת החסידות שעי"ז נעשים מהלכים, שזהו מעלת בני ישראל נשמות בגופים על המלאכים שנקראים עומדים עיין אור התורה כד, ב...

מצער מה שמתעכב ענין בנין המקוה במחנם הט', והרי אין אתנו יודע כל יום שמתאחר הבנין, גודל התועלת שהי' יכול להיות בהקדם הדבר, כי מי בא בסוד הנשמות, וכיון שכותב שרק הממון הקל מעכב בזה, בודאי יכולים לסדר הלואה ע"ח המגבית, ובלבד שתפעול ככל האפשרי להקדים הדבר לפועל, והשי"ת יצליחו.

מוסגר פה חוברת המשך המאסר של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר בטח יזכה בתוכנה את הרבים וזכות הרבים תלוי בו.
