To the Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav* Shmuel Yosef (Rav Sh. Y. Findrick),

Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter of the second day of Rosh Chodesh* of the month of the liberation (Tammuz*), that of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, the leader of our generation. You tell me that you have settled in your new home, in the village.

May Hashem grant that this be at a good and fruitful time. You will seize the opportunities thus offered to you to disseminate the teaching of Chassidus*, its practices and its ways among people who otherwise would not have become aware of them. You will do so in a pleasant and peaceful manner — not only in the house where you reside but also throughout the entire city.

According to the Torah*, the city is considered like the four amos* (the private domain) of a person. And so it is for the Eruv* (which permits carrying objects during Shabbos*), as explained in the sequence of Chassidic* discourses entitled "This Matzah*," of 5640 (1880, by the Rebbe Maharash*).

May Hashem grant that you do so in good health, with joy and enthusiasm.

במענה על מכתבו מבדר"ח הגאולה, גאולת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע נשיא דורנו, בו כותב אשר נסתדרו בבית מגורם החדש, דורא.

הנה יה"ר שיהי' בשעה טובה ומוצלחת, וינצל האפשריות שניתנה לו להפיץ תורת החסידות הדרכותי' ומנהגי' בין אנשים כאלו שלולי זאת לא היו יודעים עד"ז, ובדרכי נועם ובדרכי שלום לא רק בהבית בו דרים אלא בכל העיר כולה, שע"פ ד"ת היא כד' אמותיו של האדם בהנוגע לעניני עירובין, וכידוע ביאור ענין העירוב מבואר בההמשך דמצה זו תר"מ, ויה"ר שיהי' זה מתוך בריאות הנכונה ובשמחה וטוב לבב.
