To the Chassidim* and students of the Yeshivah* of Melbourne,

may Hashem grant you long life,

Blessings and greetings,

On the occasion of the days of the liberation of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, leader of Israel — the 12th and 13th of Tammuz*, dates that are also those of our liberation and of the deliverance of our souls — I propose a celebration of great scope, in addition to the Chassidic* farbrengen* that you will organize during this period.

You will therefore hold a special gathering whose sole purpose will be the welfare of the Yeshivah* (see letter no. 3411) that bears his name — Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* Lubavitch in Australia. You will establish a program in order to strengthen it, develop it, and broaden it. Furthermore, each Chassid* and each student, male and female, will note on a sheet of paper — specifying that they do not make it a vow — what they offer for this purpose: spiritually through their Torah* study, as well as physically and financially (see letter no. 3744).

All will send the reports of these commitments and the amount of the donations, according to their means and their hearts, to this address. They will be read, at a propitious time, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*.

I have already indicated many times that the significance of all of this is not only spiritual but also material (it is also the means of concretely receiving the blessing). Moreover, the material and the spiritual generally go hand in hand, especially when it concerns the unique people on the earth.

With my blessing, on the occasion of the festival of the liberation, and for giving good news of all that has been said,

P.S.: I am enclosing the continuation of the description of the imprisonment (of the Frierdiker Rebbe*), which was published on the occasion of the days of the liberation. I propose that you read aloud, during this gathering, the addendum found at the end of this pamphlet, in the appropriate manner.

בקשר עם ימי הגאולה די"ב וי"ג תמוז הבע"ל, גאולת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ נשיא ישראל, גאולתינו ופדות נפשינו, הנני מציע אשר נוסף על ההתועדות בימים אלו, שבודאי יערכו בממדים הכי גדולים.

יעשו אסיפה מיוחדת, אשר מטרתה היחידה תהי' אודות הישיבה הנקראת על שמו היא אהלי יוסף יצחק ליובאוויטש באוסטראליא, ולערוך תכנית להחזקתה התפתחותה והרחבתה, וביחוד אשר כל אחד ואחת מאנ"ש והתמימים הנמצאים במקום יעלו על הגליון - אף שכותבים בלי נדר - את התנדבותו לתכליתה האמורה לעיל, הן בנשמתו תורתו, הן בגופו והן בממונו, וישלחו לכאן גליון הרשימה ונדבת לבם וידם, ותקרא בעת רצון על הציון של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, וכבר מלתי אמורה כמה פעמים שאין זה ענין רוחני בלבד אלא גם גשמי, נוסף על שבכלל הגשמיות והרוחניות יחד יהלכו ובפרט בגוי אחד בארץ.
