To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Blessings and greetings,
You raise the matter of Kohanim* visiting the tombs of the righteous. You know, in this regard, the letter of the Maharil of Yanovitch (the brother of the Alter Rebbe*), found in his book Sheeris Yehudah*, addenda, chapter 14 (see also letter no. 3026), which relates to the surroundings of the tomb in Haditch* (that of the Alter Rebbe*).
This is printed in HaTamim*, and you can deduce from it the answer to the question you pose.
You also speak of a particular burial chamber, this situation seemingly stemming from a tradition. Obviously, verification must be made on the spot, by trustworthy persons. But in any event, it is clear that a distinction must be made between the impurity resulting from participation in the burial of a leader of Israel or a Tzaddik* (which can be permitted more readily) and visiting his tomb subsequently (after his burial). Many authorities discuss this subject.
No doubt you take an active part in the accomplishments of the young members of the Chabad* association in our Holy Land*, may it be rebuilt and restored. I am surprised that you do not speak of it in detail.

... ובמ"ש בענין הליכת כהנים על קברי צדיקים, הרי ידוע מכתב מוהרי"ל מיאנאוויטש, אחיו של רבנו הזקן בענין הגדר סביבות הציון בהאדיטש אשר נדפס בהתמים, אשר מזה מובנת גם ההוראה בהנ"ל.
ומ"ש בענין מערה פרטית ומהשמועה עד"ז שהיא בקבלה, מובן שזה צריך בירור על אתר ומאנשים נאמנים, ובכ"א פשוט שחילוק יש בין הענין שמטמא לנשיא ולצדיק בזמן הקבורה לבין הליכה על הציון לאחר זמן, וכבר דשו בה רבים.
בודאי לוקח חלק פעיל בעניני צעירי אגו"ח באה"ק ת"ו, ולפלא שאינו כותב עד"ז בפרטיות.
