In these days when we celebrate the liberation (this letter was enclosed with the fourth volume of Likkutei Dibburim*, p. 670b), the 12th and 13th of Tammuz* which are approaching, I propose the study of the sequence of Chassidic* discourses entitled "Rabbi Chanina ben Dossa said," by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. This text is printed in HaKriah VeHaKedushah*, from Tammuz* 5704 (1944), and in the Sefer HaMaamarim* Yiddish, from page 165.

Likewise, we are publishing, on the occasion of these days of the liberation, the fourth volume of his notes (those of the Frierdiker Rebbe*) on his last imprisonment (from which he was liberated on the 12th of Tammuz*).

He wrote these notes one year after his imprisonment, on the 15th of Sivan 5688 (1928), in Riga. The first part was printed for the 12th and 13th of Tammuz* 5712 (1952). It appears in pamphlet no. 34. The second part was published for the 12th and 13th of Tammuz* 5713 (1953) and is found in pamphlet no. 35. The third part, published for the 12th and 13th of Tammuz* 5714 (1954), is presented in pamphlet no. 36.

As an addendum, at the end of this pamphlet, one will find an account of the words of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, spoken on the Sunday of Parshas* Balak* 5687 (1927), before departing for his city of exile, Kostroma. This text was recorded by those who were present at the time.

The content of this festival was already defined by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, in his letter (printed in pamphlet no. 59, published for the 12th of Tammuz* 5708; see also the letters of the Frierdiker Rebbe*, vol. 2, letter no. 386), composed on the occasion of the first celebration of the 12th and 13th of Tammuz*, in 5688 (1928).

It is to be a day of Chassidic* gathering, of strengthening Torah* and Yiddishkeit*, in every place according to its needs.

He (the Frierdiker Rebbe*) blessed "all our brethren who cherish the Torah*, study it, and teach it publicly — may Hashem grant them long life, open for them His good treasure, and bestow upon them, as well as upon all other Jews, life and immense blessing beyond all limit. May He strengthen their hearts so that they redouble their ardor in the dissemination of Torah* and the strengthening of Yiddishkeit*. May we all have children and grandchildren devoted to Torah* and mitzvos*, in breadth and material abundance."

And may Hashem fully fulfill the blessings of the Tzaddik*, head of our generation.

בתור הוספה - באה בסוף החוברת, רשימה מדברי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, שאמר ביום א' פ' בלק תרפ"ז, קודם נסיעתו לעיר מקלטו קאסטראמא, כפי שנרשמה ע"י אחד השומעים.

תעודת חגיגה זו כבר ביארה כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר במכתבו לחגיגת יב-יג תמוז הראשונה - בשנת תרפ"ח.

לקובעו ליום התועדות והתעוררות לחיזוק התורה והיהדות בכל אתר ואתר לפי ענינו.

ומברך "את כל אחינו חובבי תורה ולומדי' ומגידי שיעורים ברבים ד' עליהם יחיו, כי יפתח ה' את אוצרו הטוב, וישפיע להם בתוך כלל אחינו בני ישראל יחיו, שפעת חיים וברכה מרובה עד בלי די, ויחזק לבבם להוסיף אומץ בהרבצת תורה והחזקת היהדות, ונזכה כולנו לראות בנים ובני בנים עוסקים בתורה ובמצוה מתוך הרחבה ופרנסה טובה".
