Blessings and greetings,

I was pleased to receive your letter of 27 Sivan, in which you describe how the students have been distributed into new classes. Surely, as you mention in your letter, you are already preparing a study program for the vacation period, especially since you possess the experience of last year in this matter. May Hashem grant you success.

I am surprised that you do not speak of the young women who have completed their schooling, whom you had begun to gather and organize. For some time, I have received no news on this subject, and you will kindly provide me with an explanation at the next opportunity.

Likewise, I would like to know whether efforts are being made to train the students of the upper classes to serve as monitors and, in a sense, educators of the lower classes. Obviously, it is not a matter of assigning them paid work within the school, but of accustoming them to lead and educate. This approach has an additional advantage: it is a means of encouraging them to redouble their ardor in study, in the acquisition of knowledge, and in proper conduct.

There are various ways to achieve such a result. One can appoint one of them as supervisor for a week, in rotation, and he will then oversee his class. There can also be monitors and supervisors for the rest periods between classes.

Please convey all of this to Rav* Sh. M. (Rav Shlomo Matusof, of Casablanca). Indeed, "salvation comes from many counselors." Here too, one must take advantage of the vacation period, when there are many new students at the Yeshivah* and at Beis Rivkah*, who are, as it were, guests compared to those who are there all year.

I was pleased by what you tell me about the mikveh* and especially by the fact that a greater number of women frequent it. Nevertheless, the entrance fee should be reduced and the conditions improved, in order to increase this number still further, to the fullest extent possible.

The mikveh* must be beautiful, and the woman who supervises it must know the most important laws in this matter. She will teach them to all the women who frequent this place. Indeed, I have heard that ignorance prevails in certain circles. You must understand what I mean.

May Hashem grant that you be able to announce good news of all of this to me.

I am enclosing the continuation of the note on the imprisonment (of the Frierdiker Rebbe*). You will surely make its content available to the widest audience, in the appropriate manner.

נהניתי לקבלת מכתבו מכ"ז סיון, בו כותב ע"ד סידור התלמידים בהכתות החדשות, ובטח כפי מכתבו כבר מכינים אצלם תכנית לסדר לימוד לימי החופש, ובפרט שיש כבר נסיון בזה משנה העברה, והשי"ת יצליחם.

ולפלא שאינו מזכיר דבר ע"ד קבוצת הנערות הבוגרות שהתחילו לאספן ולארגן אותם (ושזה כמה שאיני מקבל ידיעות בזה), ובטח יבאר בהזדמנות הקרובה.

כן אתענין לדעת אם משתדלים בהתלמידים דכתות הגבוהות לעשותם מדריכים, וגם מעין מחנכים לתלמידי כתות הקטנות (ומובן שאין כוונתי בזה לתת להם משרה וכו', אלא להרגילם בענין הדרכה וחינוך), ועוד מעלה גדולה בזה שנותנים להם הרמת רוח לתוספת שקידה להוסיף בידיעותיהם ולדקדק בהנהגה טובה, וכמה דרכים להביא זה לידי פועל אם ע"י התמנות משגיח מהם מתחלף משבוע לשבוע, היינו משגיח על חבריו בכתתו, או מדריכים ומשגיחים בזמני המנוחה שבין שיעור לשיעור כו' וכו'.

ומטובו למסור את האמור בזה להרה"ח כו' מוהרש"מ שי' ותשועה ברוב יועץ. וגם בזה יש לנצל ימי החופש כיון שאז מתרבים תלמידים ותלמידות שהם חדשים בכותלי הישיבה והבית רבקה, ומעין אורחים בערך כל הנשי שלומדים כל השנה.

נהניתי ממ"ש אודות המקוה ועיקר העיקרים שנתוסף מספר המבקרות לשם... אבל לאידך גיסא כדאי להשתדל ע"י המעטת מחיר הכניסה ושיפור התנאים שם כו' להגדיל המספר ככל האפשרי. ונוסף על עצם הידור המקוה יש ללמד את האשה המשגחת על הטבילה דינים הנחוצים בזה, ולהורותה שתודיע לכל אחת ואחת מהמבקרות את כל הדינים (כיון ששמעתי שגם בזה ישנה עם הארצות בחוגים מסוימים וד"ל), והשי"ת יצליחו לבשר טוב בכל הנ"ל.
