To the distinguished Hashem-fearing Chassid,*

Rav D.[1],

I greet and bless you,

I duly received your letter, and in the meantime you will have welcomed the young men who have come from here.[2] You will endeavor to send as many books as possible with them.

Here is the essential reason for which I am writing to you. The format of the Piskei Dinim* must be enlarged somewhat so that it matches that of the Tzemach Tzedek* of our editions — that is, 25.5 centimeters by 16.5. The binding should measure 26.5 by 17.5.

If it is already too late to enlarge the format, perhaps the binding at least could have these dimensions. The book will be divided into two volumes.

The title page will be the same as that of the Tzemach Tzedek* which we published — namely, the one I added to the Derech Mitzvotecha.* It will bear first the notation 'Library Otzar HaChassidim* Lubavitch,'* then below it and centered: 'collection of the chain of light.' A little lower, on the right: 'Fifth Sanctuary*[3]' and, opposite it on the left: 'seventh gate.'

Below that, reproduce the notation appearing in the Piskei Dinim* up to 'Mendel'[4] — the author's name. Then indicate 'Second Edition,' place the Kehot* emblem, and add 'published by Otzar HaChassidim* editions in the year 5708 of creation, 770 Eastern Parkway,' as you did in the Tanya.*

After this title page there will be my introduction and the following pages, which I will send you after the festival.

Enclosed herewith is the Pesach* fascicle. Without doubt you will make it available to as many people as possible.

I wish you a kosher and joyous Pesach.* Convey my regards to the entire community.

מכ' קבלתי ובינתים בטח כבר קבל הפ"ש ע"י האברכים דכאן. בל"ס יסדר לשלח על ידם ככל האפשרי...

ועיקר כתבי: הפסקי דינים צריך להגדיל מעט באופן שיהי' כמו גודל הצ"צ שבהוצאותינו היינו הגליונות עשרים וחמש וחצי סנטימטר ברוחב ששה עשר וחצי סנטימטר. והכריכה כו וחצי על יז וחצי.

אם כבר א"א להגדיל הגליונות אולי עכ"פ יגדיל שתהי' הכריכה כנ"ל. לכרכו בשני חלקים.

המשבצות ראם צ"ל זו שמהצ"צ שבהוצאותינו שהיא זו שבהוספתי להדרך מצותיך.

בראשה צ"ל ספרי' אוצר החסידים ליובאוויטש מתחת לזה באמצע קובץ שלשלת האור מימין ולמטה קצת היכל חמישי כנגד זה משמאל שער שביעי. מתחת לזה כנדפס בפס"ד עד התיבות מענדל נ"ע. מתחת לזה הוצאה שני' חותמו של קה"ת יוצא לאור על ידי מערכת... ושמונה לבריאה 770 איסטערן... (כמו שעשה בתניא שלו).

מעבר לזה הקדמתי (ההקדמה וסדר הע' שלאח"ז אשלח לאחר החג).

- מוסג"פ קונ' לחה"פ ובל"ס יזכה בו את הרבים.
