To the Rav*, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav* Chaim Hillel (Rav H. H. Azimov, of Paris),

Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter of 20 Sivan, as well as to those that preceded it, along with all their contents.

A) The requests for blessings that accompanied your letter will be read, at a propitious time, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. For your part, you will endeavor to explain to each of them (those who requested a blessing) that they must intensify their commitment in everything that concerns Torah* and mitzvos*. It is in this way that one obtains the blessings of Hashem in all one's needs, material and spiritual, as well as in those of the members of one's family.

This request for a blessing will be read at the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, to whom it is therefore fitting to attach oneself, in order to forge the channel and vessel* necessary to absorb the blessings received when he invokes divine mercy. For this, an action that creates a bond with him is necessary.

One should therefore establish a fixed study of his teachings, or at least of Chassidus*, since he is the successor of its founder. One should put into practice his directives — in particular, the reading of Tehillim* every day after prayer.

And our Sages* say that "words emanating from the heart penetrate into the heart" (thus, it will be possible to convince these people).

B) I was pleased to learn that you organized a Chassidic* farbrengen* for the students (of the Talmud Torah* schools) and that you did so precisely in Brunoy* (in the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch of the Paris region), that is, far from Paris, as it is said, "Go for yourself, from your land and from the house of your father."

Happy are those who lent their assistance in organizing all of this. Please convey my thanks to them, particularly to the leaders you mention in your letter — Messrs. Yadlitski, Zilberman, Mordechai Miller, and Pinkas. May Hashem increase His blessing for each of them, in all their needs, material and spiritual.

C) I hope that the success of this undertaking will lead you to redouble your ardor in renewing it several times during the summer. Obviously, you can also do so in another form and with different content.

The essential thing is to provide the students with what they need — provisions for the road — to spend the summer.

D) You tell me that you will send your sons to spend the summer at the Yeshivah*. This is a good initiative.

May Hashem grant that they strengthen their health, spiritually and therefore also physically.

P.S.: The teachers have surely been told that they must, sufficiently in advance, speak to the students about the 12th of Tammuz*.

במענה על מכתבו מכ' סיון והקודם לו, עם המוסגר בהם.

א) הפ"נ המוסגרים במכתבו יקראו בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ובטח ישתדל מצדו להסבירם כאו"א מהם להוסיף בעינינ תורה ומצות, שעי"ז מוסיפים בברכות השי"ת בהמצטרך להם ולב"ב בגשמיות וברוחניות, וכיון שהפ"נ יקרא על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הרי להתקשרות, כדי שיהי' הצנור והכלי לקבלת ברכות המושפעות ע"י התעוררות ר"ר שלו, צריכה להיות פעולה הקשורה באיזה אופן עצמו, והוא, בקביעות שיעור בלימוד תורתו ועכ"פ בתורת החסידות, כיון שהוא הנשיא ממלא מקומם של מיסדי תורת החסידות, ושמירת תקנותיו עכ"פ בהנוגע לאמירת תהלים בכל יום, וכבר אמרו רז"ל דברים היוצאים מן הלב נכנסים אל הלב.

ב) נהניתי ממה שעשה התעועדות עם התלמידים ודוקא בברונא, הייונ במקום רחוק מפאריז, וע"ד לך לך מארצך מבית אביך, ואשרי חלקם של כל אלו שסייעו בארגון הדבר, ומטובו למסור להם תודתי בזה, ובפרט להגבאים וכו', שמזכיר אודותם הוא במכתבו, מר יאדליצקי שי', מר זילברמאן שי', מר מרדכי מיללער שי' ומר פינקאס שי', ויוסיף השי"ת בברכתו לכל אחד מהם בהמצטרך להם בגשמיות וברוחניות.

ג) תקותי שהצלחת מפעל הנ"ל יעוררם להשתדל במרץ לעשות כגון דא עוד איז הפעמים במשך הקיץ, אף שמובן שיכול להיות בצורה שונה ובתוכן שונה, ועיקר להכיר צידה לדרך לימי חופש בשביל התלמידים.

ד) להודעתו אשר ישלחו את בניהם שיחיו להישיבה לימי הקיץ, נכון הדבר, ויה"ר שיהי' להטבת בריאותם ברוחניות ובמילא דם להחזקת הבריאות בגשמיות.
